I have been getting my chippy from the Golden Haddock for over 20 years! Would not go anywhere else in town. Fish supper is awesome! Lovely angel cut haddock! ☆☆☆☆☆
Clean, friendly, fresh and well-priced
Used the Golden haddock for our wedding. It was absolutely perfect. Easily the least stressful part of our wedding and out of 60 guests we received 0 complaints.
Old time, delicious, fish and chips served with mushy peas, sliced bread and tea. Just what the family ordered!
Nice fish supper. Very apparent whilst waiting on my order in the shop that there are a lot of regular customers, mostly locals, which speaks for itself. Personally, my slight criticism is that the fish was a wee bit overcooked for my liking, so only four stars.

Sat in for our meal, very spacious restaurant and helpful staff.fish was as good as we expected. My 76 year old wife left her handbag. owner arrived at our door at 9pm with it, 14 miles to our home...As we had not phoned she correctly knew my wife had not yet missed it. GOLD star service indeed.
Excellent fish supper cooked perfectly.. nice crispy batter nice crispy chips, fresh tasting food and friendly staff.. visit from Dundee and have used this chip shop many times over the years and I've never had a bad meal yet,have tried others places too but keep coming back here..
Fabulous fish tea, fresh and very tasty.
Absolutely loved this little chippy. I had the spiced haddock pudding which was out of this world and the smoky haddock tasted so delicious as they promised it would be. The ambience was quite good and it's a must try place to try the local delicacy.

Lovely fish supper. Crispy batter. All cooked fresh as ordered, nothing sat waiting on the hot plate. Also ordered an Arbroath Smokie (Smoked haddock) to try it out which was delicious.

Always friendly, often busy and everything cooked fresh so might be worth phoning in your order ahead.
Sit down cafe is nice.
Great fish and chip shop. We arrived 1 minute before closing, they still served us and everything was freshly cooked to order, many places would have just turned us away. Very tasty, highly recommend.
