Really enjoyed this cafe. Stopped off on way home to Yorkshire from Scotland. Lovely hot pork sub and chips. Wife had an omlette which she really enjoyed.
Great cake selection, lovely tea, and the bloke running the place was lovely too.
Def recommend for a breakfast/ lunch/afternoon tea to anyone.
Best breakfast of our three country tour. Service was excellent & so was the food. Have the Small English & be sure to try one of their baked goods. We had a Bakewell & Victoria Sponge - both were yummy!
Great little cafe, dogs allowed, lovely cake and hot food. We had coffee and hot chocolate which was lovely. Also had bacon and egg roll, again tasty and quick. Another highlight was the cleanliness of the toilet which also smelt lovely. Staff friendly as well. Make sure you pay them a visit.

Lovely cafe, quiet when I went. Staff were attentive and prompt. Grabbed a BLT with an excellent amount of thick bacon. Fairly priced for what you get.

What a great place. 7 of us descended on it for lunch with no prior booking. There was no fuss, moans or groans. 7 different drink and food orders followed and everything made it to the table at the same time and to the right person. Brilliant place and the prices are very honest. Well worth a visit

Called in for my birthday treat. Never been to Appleby before. Had a pulled pork panini. Hubby had full cooked breakfast. We were made most welcome. The service was excellent and the food amazing. Highly recommend this cafe if in the area.
While visiting Appleby-in-Westmorland we stopped off at the Eden River Cafe for abite to eat. It is a clean and airy space. It has a good menu and reasonably priced and decent sized portion. Dog 🐕 friendly as well. Made most welcome by the staff.
The setting is lovely sat outside in the courtyard.
If you like marmalade come here.

On our first visit to Appleby, we called in this little cafe. Nothing was too much trouble, as I need gluten-free and they went out to the shop for some more bread as they had run out. They made us very welcome and the food was very good.
Had a nice (late) breakfast here over the weekend. Lots (and lots) on offer.

Just about only cafe open on Sunday morning, small cafe, we had coffee and scones. Everything was fine, reasonably priced, nice coffee. Asked for scone to be heated 10 secs in microwave, Heating a scone makes all the diff. Jam before cream ?? that was the question well I put jam on then clotted cre
