The Old Inn - Appin - Photo album

My dinner at the Old Inn was an added bonus to my travels in Scotland. My ribeye steak was cooked exactly as I like it and the flavor was truly mouth watering. The building shows the charm of its historic past and the views outside leave nothing to the imagination. Don't miss the opportunity to dine
Absolutely delicious and worth every penny , probably the best meal I've had and we were very impressed and can't wait to go back! Steak was cooked beautifully and was massive (sirlion) will definitely be trying the t bone steak next time, the sauce was so rich and creamy and the chips are homemade.
An amazing place to visit, first of all, the view of the castle is spectacular, then you walk into a very cosy restaurant and the smell of the stake cooking hits you! You have made it to 'The Old Inn' . Take your seats and immerse yourself into the atmosphere of a top-notch stake house. The staff ar
This place was excellent. From the outside it doesn’t look much but once you get inside it’s got a cosy inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious. We had one fillet and one ribeye. Both were succulent and melted in the mouth. Sides were also fantastic and both had the sticky toffee pudding to fini
Fabulous steak in a really atmospheric inn! Loved the simplicity of the menu as the steak is done to perfection! Staff are really friendly and the service is excellent. Booking essential but you will not be disappointed!
An unreal feed at The Old Inn!!! The staff were incredible when my son got stung by a wasp and one of the girls ensured we had what we needed to ease the pain from the string. The views of Castle Stalker are just amazing and it’s such a relaxing place. Most of our group were from New Zealand and the
An absolute must if you are near Appin, definitely book in advance. If you are a fan of a steak you will love this place. Dog friendly as well and dogs are treated with the same level of customer service with their own water bowls.🥰💕
We didn't really anticipate having to book for a meal at The Old Inn by Appin on a dark Tuesday evening in late October (2023). But it turns out we did ... and we are so glad we managed to secure a table. We were offered an early 17.30 table or a later 20.00 sitting - we chose the latter. The restau
Very welcoming, lovely atmosphere, delicious steak etc. Friendly staff, Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Great view towards Castle Stalker.
Fantastic location and building. The staff were great. The dinner was exceptional. The steaks were great and the liver pate was probably the best I’ve ever had. I had a wonderful time here.
So happy we were able to snag a table! Excellent ambiance, staff was friendly and the steak was perfection!
Lovely old coaching inn in Appin. I’ve driven past it multiple times but never been there before but treated myself to a meal out for the last night of my holiday. Excellent rump steak and fries with pepper sauce: good quality meat, incredibly tasty. Service was good and the venue is very dog friend
Absolutely superb. The staff are ever so kind. The choice of drinks is top notch. The food is outstanding. It's the first time I've ever uttered the words "If this is the last meal I eat before I die I'll be happy..." Beautiful views, excellent value for the quality and setting, really can't wait t
This is a rustic local secret... not so secret! If you love amazing beef you'll love the Old Inn. They do serve a few other items but it's heavy on the steak 🥩 and well known as some of the best. Service felt a bit hectic but efficient and staff were really friendly. The small dark dining space wa
We loved this place! It was recommended to us by our B&B host and was excellent. The building is the oldest inn in Scotland, established in 1690 and resurrected in 2014! We went for their steaks as that’s what they are known for, but their large pot of mussels with bread was delicious and just the r
Old quirky restaurant, candle lit tables and log burner. Steaks are beautiful cooked and seasoned just as you like them, come served with crispy chips and a rocket parmesan salad. Good selection of drinks behind the bar. Have been twice now and will go again. Steaks include sirloin, ribeye, 11oz fil
You have to go here, fantastic, steak was to perfection, wife had the chicken and again perfection, sticky toffee pudding is the best I have had anywhere. Setting is second to none, back drop of the beer garden has castle stalker , after spending four days at a 4 / 5 star hotel 6 miles south of Oban
This restaurant was super cozy (we sat right next to the fire) & had a wonderful atmosphere with the twinkling lights & vibrant chatter. We enjoyed our steaks & the peppercorn sauce was delicious.
Had the best filet steak. Absolutely huge and perfectly cooked. Simply served with a small salad, a huge pile of chips and a bowl of pepper sauce on the side. Very tasty! Sadly left no room for dessert. The fact it's dog friendly was an added bonus. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
