The best chippy I've ever had! Everything was perfect. The smoked fish supper was glorious. The bread was so fresh and made the perfect chip buttie. The white pudding was spectacular. Their restaurant has been done up since I was last there and it's so cozy and welcoming. 5 star service also.
If you're in Anstruther, go to The Wee Chippy, the best in town!
Unbelievably good. Cooked to perfection. Gluten-free for my wife as requested. Now living in Canada, we miss fish and chips. The Wee Chippy is reason enough to book our next trip back to my homeland. Simply amazing
We live in New Zealand visiting family in fife and had heard great things about the wee chippy! It did not disappoint the fish was super fresh, scampi was melt in your mouth awesomeness!
Excellent fish and chips in front of the harbor, desserts are also very good! Super friendly staff! I recommend that you make reservations in advance
Great-tasting fresh fish and chips. Nice, light batter on fish. Unnecessarily generous portions. Alternative, gluten-free menu.
Really REALLY pleased to have found this Wee Gem, I was in the village a few months ago and tried the chippy that was stated as the best on the block.....The Wee Chippy is at the other end of the strip and every bit as good . ( I'm my impression better)
But you can dine in as well as use the takeaway entrance. Be sure to book ahead as the Wee chippy is not short of customers.
My family sat in a warm dining area, and the bill for three meals with extras and hot drinks was £29 ..... absolutely chuffed bits and No Q around the block in the wind and rain that we had to endure at the other place. Don't get me wrong, I'm not slagging the other chippy, I just want to be comfortable and the food was served and the portions so massive all three of us needed take away boxes, so I guess we got a lovely sit down meal with a FREE carry out. 😁..
My family and I have now tried three fish establishments in Anstruther. The Wee Chippy is the best all round, and defo my first choice from now on.
So, in short, after you've done the obligatory famous place and ticked that off your bucket list, go for comfort, which also has a takeaway and outside seating weather permitting.
Was our 2nd Time here & won't be our last Fish & Chips was the best Love The Crockery they are served in The staff are really friendly & The Fish is the BEST I Can see how they've Won The Best Fish & Chip shop was DELICIOUS ❤️xx
We had a table booked for 6pm but we were early and it was no problem as we were given our table straight away! Lovely menu, we were waited on by two lovely, very friendly young girls! Nothing was a bother! Food all freshly cooked and very well presented! The batter on the fish was amazing!! We will definitely visit again whenever we are back in the area!
The takeout counter is up the lane on the right hand side of the restaurant- not spectacularly well marked but it is there!
I’m a creature of habit and mainly go to one fish bar in Anstruther - but me and a colleague decided to branch out this lunchtime. Naturally we had fish suppers which were freshly cooked to order. The fish was delicious, lovely taste and great texture. The batter in my view was a tad heavy (my colleague disagreed!) but this is minor nitpicking, and the chips wonderful. The oil was very fresh, chippy sauce was available (but maybe a bit thick for the east coast traditionalists like myself!) and overall the meal was very satisfying. I would recommend this place - it does very well considering the fish bar is very high in this wee town!
Absolutely loved our dinner tonight.
First time we've eat in the restaurant and won't be the last. The price is more expensive than the takeaway however you get a hot drink and bread and butter in the price.
We both had fish, 1 battered, 1 breaded - both were so tasty and the chips were cooked to perfection.
The lad that was serving us was so efficient and very polite, he's a great asset.
Well Done Wee Chippy, you can see why you've won so many awards this year.
