Anstruther Fish Bar - Anstruther - Photo album

Easily some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. The portions were generous and reasonably priced for the portions. The fish was so fresh, crispy yet flaky and tender, chips the perfect accompaniment, and the mushy peas were exactly that...mushy peas. Service was attentive and prompt. Facilitie
We went for fish suppers at the Anstruther Fish Bar on a recent day trip. The food was outstanding, chips were cooked perfectly and the haddock had delicious light and crispy batter. I also had the salt and pepper squid which again was very tasty. Highly recommend this fish and chip bar.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience yesterday. I was in Anstruther for the Isle of May Open Weekend. I had a Fish Supper. It was delicious. And kept me going on my walk around the island. The staff were friendly and welcoming. With a place as popular as this. Their can be queues. But the staff work ha
Food was good, not outstanding by any stretch. Well if you judge your fish and chips on crispness over everything else this place wins. There was a queue but not too long and it was lunchtime. Worth a try for sure.
I donโ€™t think this place quite lives up to its reputation. This was my second time here (9 years apart) and both times the fish was over cooked and dry, but did taste very good and was battered well. Chips were good. Price is fair and love the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant
A fantastic chippy, well deserving of its reputation. Only waited about 10 minutes for a table which was great during the school holidays. Quick and efficient service and fantastic fresh fish and chips with bread, butter and tea. A must to round of any day in the East Neuk.
Most amazing fish and chips. The lightest and crispiest batter ever. We ate in and the price includes bread and butter as well as a hot drink. I was also impressed by the friendly staff and the scrupulous cleaning. If you are here, it's a must visit!
"Best Fish & Chips in the world" and I agree 100%. I love fish and this is the best. I ordered traditional haddock and had the chips and fish both with salt and malted vinegar. I also had the salt and pepper squid. They were both wonderful! I strongly recommend that you stop for lunch or dinner her
The fish is absolutely amazing. Lovely unique place, plenty of room to dine. We got there just after 12 and there was no que then at 1 pm the que was out the door so get there a little earlier to get a good spot. I will say I've had better chips but they was still very good and the fish meal was gre
It was delicious . I heard so much about it and I wanted to go and taste it for myself . I wasn't disappointed . The fish is melting in your mouth it's so tender . We had such a good , delicious and filling meal . Definitely something to try when in Anstruther .
Worth the drive to Anstruther. It's a great little village. And this is certainly the place to stop for a great fish n chips. Be prepared to wait a bit but worth it. And be sure to have an ice cream on the way out.
Decided to drop in here after a nice coastal walk and hearing great things about Scottish fish and chips. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. We ordered their traditional fish and chips and smoked macarel, accompanied by home made tartar sauce and mushy peas. All delicious
My brother and I had the haddock fish in the lightest batter I have ever tasted with chips, bread and butter and a cup of tea all for a very reasonable price, it was very worth it and no wonder that they get good reviews because it lived up to all expectations, would recommend this place to anyone w
BEST Fish and Chips in the UK, been coming here for 30+ years, back when it was in the old shop and you could only take out, still as good now as it was then ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
Quite a wait for food, but worth the wait. Loves that fish and chips served in cardboard boxes, but, each slice of bread served on a separate plate, environmental and financial waste. Fish and chips lovely, batter some of the crispiest we've ever had
The Anstruther fish bar is an institution. There is a reason that people regularly queue out of the door to get their fish suppers here. Fresh fish straight off the boat with a reasonable portion of chips. The staff serve as quickly as they can. Word of warning. If you take your fish supper out to t
