I eat at the restaurant regularly. The food is always excellent, and the service always friendly, different dishes served to the table at the same time, you’re not sat with some food going cold while waiting for other dishes to be served.
The prices are also excellent.
Lots of little things that add to make a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.
We ate two meals here and the food and service were superb! The staff went above and beyond to make sure that my husband, who requires gluten-free food was well taken care of. The fish and chips were excellent and my husband said that he couldn’t believe the batter for his fish was gluten free. It was excellent. I highly recommend this lovely establishment!

Great room. Lots of space. Great bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Good tea/coffee making. Great shower 🚿 with option for rain head. Breakfast included and excellent - made to order and nothing was a bother. Would I stay again? Without a doubt - just amazing! Great customer service from all staff - thank you. Found the Waterfront by chance. Couldn't have asked for more relaxing, enjoyable food experience. Staff were just lovley from the warm greeting to the last cheerio. Very attentive and couldn't be faulted. We had the sea food sharing platter for starters. Then a rare stake cooked to perfection and a smoked haddock with a side of mac n cheese with bacon. Would definitely recommend and will be returning. Best to book as we were very lucky to get a table on a Saturday night.
We visited for the day didn’t need to stay at the hotel but used the small takeaway chip shop tucked into the corner next to it. SO GLAD WE DID. AMAZING best fish supper we’ve had in Anstruther yet loved it very clean lovely staff and cooked fresh for us waited a few minutes enjoying the scenery outside where tables and seating were arranged. Well recommend.
Stayed 2 nights in the very smart rooms above the restaurant. Breakfast is excellent. The meals in the evening were good...better on the Tuesday night than the Monday but maybe that's the main chef's night off. We really loved Anstruther and this is a great location to stay.
Went here last night for a meal. The food was beautiful, especially the Chicken Alfredo which I had. Loved it. We had Lemon Sole Goujons and Haggis Bonbons for starters which were also lovely. My wife had Chicken Fajitas which were great, but a huge portion. Had to give her some assistance 🤣🤣🤣. A couple of good local ales were had as well from the Ovenstone 109 brewery. Service from Luca and Rachel was first class. Will definitely be back next time we are in the Neuk.
We visited on a Saturday for lunch and we were lucky to get a table. The seafood platter was fresh and the haddock lasagna was delicious! The portions are generous so order carefully! The staff was attentive and the prices were very reasonable.
Very good food. Breakfast was very nice. Served quickly. Quite oily is my only complaint. Black pudding and haggis were very nice

What a little gem!! Great situation opposite the harbour. The rooms are at the back of the restaurant and ours was great. In very good repair, large room with an enormous bed and large well fitted bathroom. Shower was forceful and no lack of hot water.
The restaurant was great and we enjoyed a delicious evening meal (not included) and a fab breakfast included. Definitely recommend the smoked haddock & poached eggs and the porridge.

Came in at 5.30 but they were filled booked and had no availability till 8.30, so I got a reservation for then and came back a few hours later.
The have quite a few vegetarian options! Since I was not too hungry, I ordered the nachos with bean chilli. The potion size is really quite large and am glad I didn’t get anything else.
The nachos are quite nice - although of course not the best I’ve had (which is why only 4 stars)
The waitress was really helpful with information regarding how large the portions were so that I wouldn’t end up over ordering!
Update: I also came in for breakfast the next morning since it was included in my stay. The avocado toast just spectacular - it’s got so much flavour and the wads was cooked to perfection! The scrambled eggs are really good too! I highly recommend their breakfast menu!
We had been driving around around Fife and stopped off at the waterfront. We found a very clean and tidy place with very nice and friendly staff. We only stopped for a drink but would like to eat there.
Lovely friendly staff. Fabulous hot Scottish breakfast. It was so good we even had waffles after breakfast. Delicious.
Staying just along the road from the restaurant. Went for dinner last night very disappointed . Mussels were very bland needed more white wine / onions etc.Prawn cocktail was made with tiny frozen prawns more like shrimps. Complaint made and not charged for this. Main course, the pan fried cod was ok although sprouting broccoli was undercooked. Linguine with prawns / chorizo again needed more flavour and garlic bread was heavy with oil and could not taste any garlic

Back at the Waterfront restaurant in Anstruther where my brother and I enjoyed a delicious meal, coupled with good friendly service in a pleasant atmosphere, definitely worth a visit and also 5 stars.

Delicious fish and chip. Mussels are perfect. Good price and good size portion. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is welcoming. A delighted meal at the waterfront.
