We ate outside in the tented style area. My wife had the focacia n Hummus which she really enjoyed and I had the special of toulouse sausages with greens n onion gravy and herb mash. Delicious.
Arrived earlier than we had booked having explored and walked for hours. Happy to just chill with a drink outside. Staff asked us if we would like to eat earlier than we booked, we were hungry so delighted to do so. The pub is a wee gem, the staff are attentive, friendly but overall professional, you watched them working as a team, kind and supportive of each other. The food then, the charcuterie was stunning and so large was boxed up for us to take home for supper. Every cheese was described, as were the meats and pickles. Win win. Then the sea trout...The king of fish in our opinion, cooked simply and the star of our meal. Advised not to order sides with this due to size of starter. I truly cannot wait to return with some other loved ones. Scottish food and hospitality at its finest.
Just what we were looking for! Dog friendly, accommodates a wide range of dietary requirements and some of the most welcoming staff I have ever had the fortune to meet! Plus their Halloween decorations are on point π
Evening meal with my wife, sons and their partners Thursday 28/07/23 evening. Welcome was very warm and friendly. Loved the atmosphere and the decor. Wine menu great, food to die for, best we have had all week. Worth every penny. BTW the Bloody Marys are amazing.
Thank you The Dreel Tavern. ππβ€οΈ
A really nice space and lovely staff.
Had asparagus for starter (actually it's a side on the menu) which was delicious and perfectly cooked.
Trout with risotto (special) for main - also very nice but I think the fish was sliiiiiightly over, probably would have been better if it were done whole but honestly it was very slight, and it was overall really enjoyable.
I had ice cream for dessert. You can choose from a selection. I chose chocolate, tablet and raspberry sorbet. The tablet ice cream stood out by far as the best, really creamy and little chunks of tablet through it. Sorbet was nice. Chocolate was decent, cocoa-y but I generally (personally) prefer richer Chocolate ice cream and this wasn't, but of course that's just my preference.
Had G+T to drink: Pilgrim's from St andrews which was really good. They had a local one from Crail as well but I didn't try that one (although I have a feeling I maybe already have a bottle at home anyway).
Also nice and dog friendly, brought my dog water as priority without my asking and gave me some treats I could give her. And the floor was clean so there was nothing she could eat that might be bad for her (not always something that all 'dog friendly' places think of keeping an eye on).
Definitely coming back I can't believe I grew up nearby and the first time I go is after years of having moved away!
Visited Aug 2021 with friends for a wedding anniversary meal for my wife and I. Fantastic old pub in a good location and the food was excellent. Highly recommend!!
You could easily drive by and miss this hidden gem. Stopped for a bite to eat and drink today. Warm welcome, all staff warm, friendly and made you the experience very relaxed.
Food was first class, will definitely be back.
Well done team Dreel.
Had a lovely meal here. The only disappointment was the lobster tacos. Very little lobster in there for the price. It tasted good but it was mostly lettuce! But ignoring that everything else we had was great. we had the onion bahji, steak, linguini, banana tarte tatin and rhubarb crumble. π
Lovely old pub, very welcoming and cosy. Serves a great pint of Murphy's too. Didn't eat there on this occasion but seems to be popular and was taking a lot of bookings when we were there.
Really nice place. Had my lunch here. A soup and a sandwich and my fave, sticky pudding. All great. I've asked for still water and they brought a bottle with cucumbers which was lovely. Had to pay for my lunch 13.30Β£, had a coffee also and had the water for free. Next time I'll try the halloumi dish as wasn't available.
Went here for dinner with our 2 dogs. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Food was excellent. I couldn't turn down the opportunity to try their Cullen Skink, offered as large or small portions. We don't usually have a starter but I was having one my wife asked if she could have a small soup. They usually only do one size but offered her a child's portion, which was great. Plan to visit again before we return home.
Cosy intimate atmosphere and food was amazing. Flavours were new and intriguing. Loved it all.
Had a lovely meal at the Dreel Tavern! The food was excellent - we had the langoustines and beef tacos to start, and the seafood sharing platter for main. Everything was delicious!
Had a family meal here. Food was excellent, staff very polite, attentive and helpful. We had a really enjoyable visit.
How a restaurant experience should be - we had a phenomenal night!
Because of the current situation, we were sitting outside in one of the specially made booths which was really cozy and a pleasant place to be. The food was amazing (don't leave unless you've tried the steak loaded fries with the seafood platter) and the hot spiced gin will change your life for the better.
You'll also know you're in for a good night if Fraser is serving - that guy needs an award for being so on it!
Further big nods of appreciation for correspondence before & after (yep we cheekily asked for the spiced gin recipe and it appeared in my inbox later that night!) and they also recommended taxi companies to take us along from St Monans where we were staying. Being dog friendly was also an essential and he was made to feel totally welcome.
So all in all, a truly superb experience which we can't rate highly enough. A massive thanks to Alli and Fraser for such a good night and we'll definitely be back as soon as we can!
Absolutely great, very welcoming and accommodating. What a great experience after a 7 hour drive from the midlands. Menu simple but caters for all. Had the Serloin steak @ Β£32 but so worth it. Definitely on this visit will return to try another meal. Great job Dreel.

Lovely food, we were outside at the river, inside these beach hut things probably left over from lockdown, would not great to sit in, but if the weather isn't great they'll accommodate more people
