Great little place in Red Wharf. Okay, technically it is in Angelsey, not Conwy, but it is a great pub with lovely atmosphere and the best fish n chips you will ever find. Great crunchy, crispy batter with perfect moist white fish inside. Actually, the fish was so good I barely touched the chips, but they were nicely made as well. The set up is that you order from the bar and they give you a numbered wine bottle to place on your table so the server knows where to bring the food. I enjoyed this place immensely. Had a lovely conversation with some visiting Scots at the next table.
Such a brilliant location. Food was excellent. Goat cheese tartlets for starters. Perfectly crispy fish and chips. Reviews are right - the chowder is delicious. Finished off with half a pint of nostalgic sherry trifle. Shout out to Gen who is a breath of fresh air.
Attended on a Monday late afternoon / evening at the beggining of winter half term. Access from the main road is good albeit tight if in a larger vehicle but in keeping with all the roads in the area. Site is a really good old fashioned pub with a really nice atmosphere. Very dog friendly with a small inside room catering for dog owners and plenty of outside space / tables. Busy and small bar area but well staffed and managed. Good amount of room inside, typically sprawling and tight passages for a pub / building of this age. Great service from all staff we encountered. Friendly, helpful and accommodating. Cant speak to its accesibility but would suggest wheelchair users are best served staying outside which is spacious and well laid out. Amazing views and literally you walk across the car park and onto the beach. Food at our visit was very good, the Chowder was fantastic and a really generous portion (We had the main course not starter option). We also had the chilli king prawn starters and Salt and Pepper squid which was very good. Overall very easy to reccomend.
Considering the place was full of people, we received our dinner fast and it was really delicious food. Visiting the island for the weekend, we didn't have a reservation, but we're accommodated outside. It was a chilly night, but the area is well sheltered and has instant heaters that work well. Next time we visit Anglesey, we'll be back!
Excellent food and ale I had the burger and a half of the Ship Inn Ale as I was driving back to Congleton lovely staff as well been here before never disappointed such a beautiful location as well
Really good home made Dragon Pie. Super tasty with delicious tender lamb and generous cheese topping....recommended. A great view too.
Loved it.. The dragon pie was fantastic.. Lisa had the seafood chowder which she said she would definitely have again
Visited in September, in the evening and The Ship was busy. We did book a table as we know it is always very popular. There is a main bar area and also several smaller rooms, all with interesting sea themed items, old pictures and books.
There is a main and specials menu which always includes fish & seafood. Even though it was busy our meals were served promptly. The landlord and staff were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to our next visit when we have a holiday on Anglesey.
Brilliant location for outside dining, food was brought very quickly, friendly service, tasty food. Plenty of parking on site. Would definitely visit again.
We went to this lovely homely pub with our Chocolate Lab and had a lovely meal & drink.
Beautiful and very busy pub/restaurant. Awesome views with seaside seating area
Sat outside in the sun, beautiful views, pint of beer and fish & chips. The nicest battered fish for some time with chips cooked as you like them with mushey peas. What else can you say!
Fantastic pub. They give a really friendly welcome and it's like stepping back in time but warm with the fire going and very comfortable. We didn't eat there sadly but the food looked and smelt incredible. They have a really good selection of real ales and gins etc. You must visit when you are in the area.
It's in a stunning location with lots of decent seating (our hut was sheltered) and great food!
Amazing pub serving great food! The staff are absolutely brilliant and have been there years, obviously a great place to work. Always love the atmosphere of this place, in Summer or Winter. The views across the bay are unbelievable!!
The Ship is a local to me, due to busy work life it’s hard to get time to go there. Today I stopped during my dog walk and had the most amazing lunch, cheddar cheese and onion toasted sandwich, real quality bread, with a gorgeous side salad, washed down with a refreshing san Miguel 😉 the staff are so welcoming and polite and the service is fantastic, the atmosphere is something else, eating your lunch by the sea front, mindful in the moment. I’m so lucky to have this amazing place on my doorstep ♥️ I will back asap… thank you xx
Had nice meals and service was great. Just abit on expensive side compared to other pubs.
