Really nice thatched pub with low beamed ceilings and a cosy fireplace. Always offering somthing unique on the specials board. Plenty of seating for dining with a generous pub garden.
We went in on a Sunday afternoon after booking 1/2 hr before our arrival for a roast. Unfortunately the beef had sold out by the time we got there around 2.45. I had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. Lovely and tender. My wife had the chicken which was a breast and wing. Plenty of potatoes an
After hearing good things about the new ownership, my family booked a table for 6 adults for Sunday lunch. We couldn't get over how busy it was with nearly every table filled. With over 100 years of history this place is a must stop! From the picture worthy exterior to the local beers and wonderful dishes. The menu changes often and the soups are outstanding.
Attended a wake. Food was good, a nicely presented buffet. Early in the afternoon on a week day so no problem getting served
Good beer. Will try food soon. Lovely country pub with welcoming fire and staff/owner.
Excellent food great hosts. Decent beer too. Bit noisy inside unfortunately, but people feel the need to shout for some reason.
Delicious Sunday roast and lemon sponge with custard
Visited for lunch because of an article in the local paper. Bit of a trek for us but we'll worth the journey. Luckily it was sunny, we had to sit in the garden as the bar was booked out for a wake. As I was paying my wife was invited to join the mourners for lunch!
Nice staff. Great food. Allows dogs. All good things.
