After some fantastic afternoon teas and take away cakes from the shop I reached out to the team about our wedding cake and evening treats for guests. Hannah was amazing throughout, she was super helpful and accommodated all our requests and gave us loads of options on flavours and decorating and accommodated a special bake for vegan and gluten free guests, as well as providing much needed cake boards. Hannah created a beautiful main wedding cake which was delicious! She also made an extra birthday cake for the morning after the wedding and an absolute mountain of assorted tray bakes which were used in our evening buffet. Cannot tell you how many positive comments there were! People went absolutely mad for the tray bakes - the millionaires shortbread disappeared in minutes, we didn’t even have time to get any photos of the baked out before they were all tucked into by grateful guests! Even our neighbours were talking about the bakes the next day! We will 100% be returning for any cake related catering needs going forward! Would recommend you try some of Hannah’s cake either in the shop or directly as it’ll brighten your day!

A Hidden Gem for Tea Lovers in Ampthill Rating: 4.5/5 Our family recently had the pleasure of visiting the charming vintage tea room, Cakestand and Crumb, located in the picturesque town of Ampthill. Run by the delightful duo of Hannah and her mum Michelle, this quaint establishment offers a lovely setting for afternoon tea. As visitors from abroad, we were unaware of the 24-hour notice requirement for afternoon tea reservations, especially when catering to dietary restrictions like gluten-free options. Nevertheless, we opted for tea and cake, which turned out to be a delightful experience. Cakestand and Crumb boasts an extensive selection of teas, accompanied by a mouthwatering array of cakes, scones, and, to our delight, gluten-free options. During our visit, the weather was perfect for enjoying the outdoor terrace, where we savored our tea and cake in the warm sun. The tea room is tucked away from the bustling town center, accessible through a small gate on Church Street, making it a hidden gem in Ampthill. Ampthill itself is a charming town worth visiting, and Cakestand and Crumb provides the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon tea or simply indulging in some delicious cakes. We highly recommend this delightful vintage tea room for a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Great little vintage tea room! We hired for exclusive use afternoon tea for a baby shower. The cake selection was great and tasted amazing!!! I love the fact that they have a record player there (which you can connect to to play your own music for function!) Afternoon tea was a great variety of cakes unlimited tea and coffee - excellent value!. Staff very attentive. Also visited with my family prior to event and was impressed then too. Lovely decor, highly recommend ❤️

Lovely afternoon tea. Plenty of sandwiches, cakes, fresh fruit meringues and masses of cream and jam for your scones. And a box to take what you don't manage, for later. Oh and tea. Very friendly staff.

Ordered a strawberry Victoria sponge cake for my daughter’s birthday and it was absolutely delicious. Hannah paid attention to detail and made exactly what we asked for. Will definitely be ordering again soon. Thank you!

My friend and I went along for afternoon tea, our first visit to cakestand & crumb. What a delightful place - very quaint. They catered for our chosen sandwiches and made us feel very welcome, lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go back, maybe for the late night event 😁

Had a very nice afternoon tea gifted by a friend for my birthday. Good selection of cakes, sandwiches and scones with plenty of jam and cream. Good service and pleasant staff. A very busy, cosy tea room. Hannah communicated very quickly and fitted us in at short notice.

Myself and 8 friends had an afternoon tea in Cakestand and crumb. Hannah kept in contact leading up to the event and took great care to check for allergies (which I had forgotten). There was even a dairy free version for one of our party. The food was delicious. We couldn’t fault a thing. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

I hosted a baby shower here recently, Hannah was very accommodating and good with communication throughout. Even though it was the hottest day of the year the staff did what they could to make the day run smoothly. Drinks were served promptly, food was ready when we wanted, sandwiches were fresh and cakes were delicious with a great range. I would book here again, especially as there was no room hire fee (depending on min numbers met) & you could take your own prosecco or nosecco for events. Beautiful setting, lovely food and helpful team, couldn't ask for more!
