This is now our local tea rooms so we've popped in a couple of times; once for ice cream & another time for hot chocolate & cake. Staff are really welcoming & there's nice seating indoor & out. The cakes are delicious.
Just happened to notice this beautiful eatery whilst driving through the village. Stopped virtually outside and popped in for snack of coffee and fruit scone. They were both superb. When we returned from our driving expedition over the North York Moors, we deliberately returned via Ampleforth to frequent the cafe again for lunch. I had Heart's Platter which was so good; my wife had Caesar Salad also excellent. Having enjoyed both occasions we ordered our evening meal as well with no effort at all. Excellent food, excellent value, excellent service. Well done, thank you so much.
Such a gorgeous spot, lovely food and service and a cute outside area.
We recently spent a week in Ampleforth. Did some lovely walks and we went in here every day it was open. It was magical! Great food, people and atmosphere. One of the best cafes I have been in, in recent times. Thank you
What an absolute gem of a place. We came on a Sunday for brunch and it didn't disappoint. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and the food was scrumptious. The cafe itself is lovely and cosy with a great atmosphere.
Nice cafe with a cute garden out the back. Food was good and they did us a favour getting it out quickly as were in a rush (otherwise the wait time would have been 45 minutes).
Had the cod fish finger wraps with a lovely homemade iced green tea with ginger.

Newish to living in North Yorkshire.
Sutton Bank was closed for repairs a couple of weeks ago. On detour I passed through Ampleforth, saw cafe & thought one to visit.
The wife loves a cafe so we we visited on Monday. She has recently had an operation on her foot, so I dropped her off outside, whilst I found a place to park the car.
The cafe staff noticed she was limping.
Opened the door for her and helped her to her seat. Excellent service.
The staff are really helpful, whilst in the cafe, I heard them giving out lots of advice on places to visit nearby etc.
After we had both sat down, a waitress brought us a menu.
Only a coke for the wife & a cheese scone and an Americano for me. The scone was served warm, so the butter
melted into it when the scone was cut & buttered. Absolutely delicious.
Other tables had sandwiches etc, all served with a bowl of salad.
Another lady had the soup, she said it was delicious.
We will be returning. It appears it is also the social hub of the village.
A fantastic atmosphere.
On leaving, again the door was opened for my wife, thoughtful.
As we left, we were thanked for our visit. Also told that the cafe is shut on a Tuesday & Wednesday.
The garden at the rear would be a great place to sit on a sunny day.
A definite little gem of a cafe to be visited again soon. Set in a truly beautiful village, of stone built houses, set just below the Noth York Moors.

Awesome coffee and cakes but incredible service! We were staying in a nearby rental cottage and on numerous occasions when we ordered, the staff told us they were happy to bring it to our door! Really just incredible and kind staff.
Delicious food cooked with love from this fabulous family owned cafe here in North Yorkshire. We live close by and feel really lucky to have this on our doorstep and visit whenever we can.
My family and I recently holidayed in Ampleforth and visited here a couple of times and I couldn’t recommend it more. The staff were very attentive and fussed over our 2 spaniels. The food was great and it’s a very friendly atmosphere. The garden is lovely too.
