The Squirrel - Amersham - Photo album

Great pub with a massive garden, food is good quality and atmosphere is great. Accepts (slightly) muddy boots and dogs which is useful as it's opposite the cricket pitch and some woodlands. In the summer the garden is a real bonus with plenty of seating, a good climbing frame/playset for kids and c
Sunday lunch was a solid 8/10 for the chicken which came with decent roast potatoes (not too crispy on the outside), excellent vegetables (beautifully cooked carrots, green beans, cabbage), a good amount of chicken on and off the bone. Let down by the lack of a Yorkshire pudding, ordinarily I’d be i
We were a bit hesitant to visit this pub after reading some of the reviews but it turned out to be a great place that we will definitely be visiting again very soon! The food was excellent and very flavourful and all of the staff were lovely and very attentive. The service was pretty slow throughout
Ok pub. Good range of beer. Very expensive, over £12 for 2 beers! Excellent garden at rear. Good place to sit and watch the cricket.
Lovely pub, in a peaceful location with lots of space...Nice outdoor seating. Food was fantastic, friendly and helpful staff, though service a bit slow
Good food. pies a bit tough from reheat and elements not available. pricey for what's on offer. beer was good. midweek pretty quiet but good location.
Lovely location opposite the village cricket pitch. Plenty of outside seating. Friendly staff and tasty food. Worth a visit if in the area
One of the best pubs in the area. Highly recommended....fantastic location, good service with interesting menu options!
Nice staff and a great kids play area, sadly the food is normal frozen food fried or reheated, nothing bad but nothing special. They looked to have a good selection of beer and ale though which would have liked to try.
Lovely pub in the village of Penn Street, Amersham - in the heart of the Chilterns AONB. The food and service were excellent. This is a great place to have bite to eat before a day of walking in the surrounding woods and trails. Highly recommended.
Really nice first visit. They warned us of a wait for food on entry but it was worth the wait. Pork tomahawk was a highlight!
Had a lovely veggie Wellington Sunday roast here. Great service too!
A great place to sit down after hiking all day as it has a great climbing frame for kids to keep them busy.
Nice secluded country pub. Good range of beer and cask ales. Food menu has a lot of options including gluten free. The place has a few fireplaces and a play area at the back with outdoor seating as well. Family friendly and dog friendly too.
Nice place , front and back garden, can park right outside , nice big green out the front, and Penn woods also.
Recently reopened - refurbished sympathetically inside and tidied up outside. Still has the children's play area in the garden. Menu is more comprehensive than before, our mains all arrived hot and cooked well just felt slightly lacking. Will be back as its not been open long so would like to try mo
Epic Discovery alert - first time here since it was refurbished last year , welcoming cosy pub with roaring fires, good selection of beers . Very good wine list Starting with excellent olive, bresoala, pine nuts , leaves and mustard dressing, on to lamb short ribs with slaw and spiced aubergine sala
This is the second time I've visited the pub. The food is lovely, decor cosy and staff are friendly. It is pretty disorganised though and could do with someone getting the ship in order a bit more. When you walk in you have to ask for a menu, it's not clear whether you have to order at the bar or no
