We stayed in a medium tent with no electrical hookup. The pitches were very well spaced out so you felt like you had your own little space. We paid a little extra for lake-side and the view was incredible, although walking around the site, I wouldn’t say you’d be disappointed if you didn’t have lake-side as even the field pitches had a lovely view of the mountains. The toilet block was clean and well heated, even throughout the night, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault it.

Great campsite, really friendly and helpful. I had car troubles, so they let me leave my tent up until everything was sorted. Beautiful location right next to Windermere and Castle Wray. Pizza place onsite, has vegan and gluten free options.

We love Low Wray. It has to be one of the best campsites in the UK. Perfect for families with kids. So much to do on your doorstep, spectacular views on the mountains and Windemere. Vicky was a super star, helping us re-locate when we were too cold in our tent last night. Thank you so much Low Wray staff and Vicky.

I love this place.. I went years ago in a two man tent with my 55kg dog for 4 nights in the woods. I want to take my daughter but 350 for a pod for 4 nights is mad. By time we travel to lakes pay for pod were talking 500 pound I can't justify that to go camping I'd rather illegally camp are go Spain

Just got back from an over night stay in our car tent, found by accident, dog friendly as we had our 2 dogs, everything we needed, friendly helpfull staff, showers and toilets warm and spotlessly clean, lovely walk to the lake and the views are just amazing, also the stone baked pizza from nomads pizza, we collected on the way back to our tent, was possibly the best pizza I've ever tasted, we will definitely be back again

No more bike hire :( but it looks a lovely campsite and the staff were so friendly and nice. I liked the look of the pizza oven too, which apparently is just "some evenings". The campsite and reception office is harder to find than the Holy Grail. Signs are few and far between and I think some were pointing in the wrong direction! If you come from the boat / ferry dock, turn right and go through the first two gates, then walk about 15 minutes and go through two more gates and keep walking...

Absolutely amazing campsite, we went mid week so super quiet. Great facilities, right on Windermere. Perfect.

Great campsite with facilities. Perfect spot to walk out from (many on AllTrails) had a great spot first night, rain came in heavy second day so park warden asked us if we could move to a different pitch so we wouldn’t get isolated if the road flooded (it did) other pitch was equally good. Free electricity and good shower/toilet block with plenty of warm water and kept extremely clean. Recommended spot for a great price too.

Wow just got back from 4 days camping here and it was absolutely wonderful, the lake front sites are highly recommended for such a nice view. I will definitely be back again, this is my new favorite camp ground. The onsite pizza oven was a plus and we rented a canoe to go around the lake. Only downside as mentioned the bathrooms were a bit dirty but I’m sure it’s hard to keep clean when it’s wet and rainy and everyone is tracking water in, the lovely site and grounds made up for this though and it did not hinder our experience.

By far our favourite campsite! Pitches are really spacious with lots of room for children to play. Short walk from the toilet block which was always really clean- showers were also nice and hot! Great being so close to the lake, you can hire canoes, paddle boards etc from the campsite, however we brought our own. Really peaceful on a night, no issues with noise. There’s little rabbits hopping about the site which my children loved, along with our little duck visitors who came right up to our tent! Lovely park and badminton net with equipment left to play with. Staff were always really helpful. Well stocked shop on site which sold amazing pastries and coffee! There’s no cars allowed on the tent field, which was a slight inconvenience with having a heavy air tent, however, there are wheelbarrows around to take your stuff from the car to the pitch. It also felt safe for the children to run around without worrying about cars on the field. We can’t wait to return! Such a chilled out campsite with loads to do!
