The Kings Arms - Ambleside - Photo album

Popped in here for a cider after a long walk over the fells. Made to feel instantly welcome by ALL staff, told that my little dog could come inside with me, then sat outside and the manager came over to give my dog a treat to eat. Very friendly, a lovely and much needed pint and a superb location. W
I stayed at the Kings Arms in Hawkshead for 2 nights over a weekend with my wife. The pub offers good value for its rooms, especially given its location in the centre of the village. The rooms reflect the competitive price and are clean and functional. If I was to give bit of feedback it would be
Excellent food and drink. We went on a Wednesday lunchtime and were able to get a small table outside. Food service didn’t start until 13:00, but it was very pleasant sitting there with a fine pint of Hawkshead bitter. We both had the home-made steak pie with chips and mushy peas which was superb. S
Always loved this pub and it’s now under new management. Amazing service from all staff but especially Leon. Great local beers and a free drink for my boyfriend’s birthday. Really accommodating and well priced. Can’t wait to visit again!
We can’t even begin to put into words how amazing this stay was. Pete, Jules and Imogen made us feel so welcome and are truly lovely people who did everything they could to ensure we had the best time. Thank you guys for the best trip and we will certainly be back! ❤️
A good pub with a friendly atmosphere. Lots of people in which is always a good sign. They were able to fit our table booking in for four at short notice and it was a busy restaurant and bar area. Meal was well prepared and we were all served at the same time. Dessert was also well received.
We've just got back from our stay here. Everything was excellent! Lovely staff, who worked hard to make sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. The rooms are cosy, clean and tidy, the food and drink was delicious and our dogs, Dougal and Alfie were very grateful of the treats they w
Think the staff where having a bad day, seemed very unorganised but they did apologise for the lack of staff due to illness, and continued to welcome everyone with enthusiasm, after calling in two other pubs in Hawkshead- one very rude barman the other saying they couldn't let us have a table even t
Warm, friendly welcome. Great beer. The sandwich prices looked a bit steep but the size and quality makes it worth it and the side chips were as good as you could want. A big bowl, hot and crisp with fluffy centres.
Really friendly quaint little pub. Visited on a cold and wet day just before xmas. The food was lovely pub grub, including quite a few vegan options which my son enjoyed. Lovely beer and a hot mulled cider that my daughter loved. Altogether a smashing lunch!
Visited this pub whilst staying in Hawkshead. Actually visited here a couple of times during the evening for drinks and also for dinner. Found the staff to be pleasant but a little serious, though this was understandable when you see some of what they have to put up with from the 'tourists' and some
The King's Arms is traditional, not swanky - and the food is great, not average. Pub classics served by friendly staff and an attentive landlord. Be thankful there are still places like this in the Lakes!
Lovely old style welcoming pub with 4 great ales, generous food (have the pie!!!!) and we booked a table easily enough just by booking a day in advance, you can just buy a beer and sit outside at the covered heated tables if you want. Definitely going there again. Made our stay in Hawkshead really f
