For starters, the place is dog-friendly. My kinda place. Friendly staff and the ambience made it just right. The falafels are a must try. As are the scones.

It was our first visit to Chester’s and it didn’t disappoint, I had the poached eggs and my wife had the vegetarian kedgeree, both dishes were delicious. Friendly staff and lovely surroundings made for an excellent meal. I certainly intend to visit again when up this way.

We had our first visit to Chester’s yesterday! We loved it! Beautiful shop with lovely items for the home or gifts for loved ones, and amazing food! We tried a curried chickpea and sweet potato pastie....Absolutely delicious We stumbled across the shop whilst out on a walk, we’ll definitely be back!

Really lovely food, friendly staff, fantastic venue, just found some of the other customers a bit rude, but the venue can't be held responsible for those

Chesters is such a lovely cafe that serves incredibly vegan food (note this place also serves vegeterian cheese and milk) The food is delicious with huge portion sizes. The only downside would be disposable cutlery and plates which although are marked as recyclable I doubt they are when covered in food. Can't fault the taste and quality though and will definitely return!

Stopped here for a coffee and cake, both were utterly exceptional. Ended up buying more cake and beer to take home. Menu looked and smelled amazing, completely veggie and vegan, and the staff were great. Beautiful spot to sit and eat at too. Will be returning when next in the area.

Some of the best bakes we've ever had - so much so we came back 3 times in a week! The cafe is modern with a cosy vibe, has good parking and plenty of seating. We enjoyed good coffee, carrot cake, cinnamon buns, frittatas, bhajis (just wow!) saag aloo pasties and a wonderful few hours spent relaxing. The shop is a great draw too with fab cards and home wares.

Really yummy food - a little expensive but who cares when it's this good and ALL VEGAN. Omg wow, it was just round the corner from us and was a gem. We came here three times during our 5 day stay in the area

Opening with a revamp - but oh so just wonderful as usual. Home baked sourdough bread to rave about. I had a wonderful Mushroom and tarragon soup for my late lunch here. This place has a fab vibe and amazing food. The selection of cakes are awesome- and then there’s the shop ❤️

Amazing food and beautiful views. We got the jackfruit fries and mac & cheese, and two cakes to take away, the cinnamon cake and the Chelsea bun. Everything avaliable is vegan, which is amazing! (but you should ask for non-dairy milk and cheese options for coffee and pizza). Must visit if you're vegan in the lakes

The shop here is super cute, the nicest shop we’ve visited in the lakes for sure. They have a lot of really lovely books and other bits. The cafe is also great we had some coffee and a pastry and it was a 10/10!

We call in here whenever we are walking this particular part of the Lakes and the coffee and cake is really, really nice. Everything is served in bio-degradable cups / bowls etc and the outdoor seating area is nice. Free WiFi and dog friendly too.

Had an amazing lunch here - loads of great options on the menu, and opted for the mushroom kebab. The portion size was super generous and it tasted great. Only downside was that a nearby road closure meant getting there was extremely difficult. The single track road that was used for the diversion wasn’t up to the volume of traffic being directed down it, and it took a long time to get in and out of the area. Should be fine on a normal day though and there are a fair number of parking spaces.

Chesters has been on my cafe bucket list for a while now, and it didnt disapoint! The jackfruit fries were the best thing I've ever eaten. The environmentally friendly/recycle aspects were so nice to see

Onion Bhaji sandwich was out of this world. Donuts are to die for and the pesto pizza was banging. 11/10 food, highly recommend this place and it's probably my favourite cafe I've been to in the Lake District.

Staff are great - it can get really busy, but definitely worth it as the food is amazing! Love sitting next to the river after a long walk with a cuppa and some great cake! Also the little shop next door is well worth a visit too! Lovely little spot!

Amazing veggie food by the setting of the river. We had a cauliflower and bhaji pizza which was delicious and a sag aloo pasty. Gorgeous flavours. The cardamom bun we took home was nice but very aromatic, so might not suggest if you don’t like quite intense floral flavours. Can’t wait to go back

A cracking bakery, cafe and good quality gift shop. The cakes are just amazing, massive and delicious and perfect with their fresh coffee. We stopped for a welcome break on a long old walk from Elterwater ans glad we did.
