Very nice large room, bed very comfortable with good quality linen, bathroom good size with top quality shower gels and soaps, shower over large bath.
Restaurant excellent with extensive menu and food of the highest order including breakfast menu.
All staff very polite and helpful

Was fortunate enough to stay at this fabulous hotel. I can honestly say the whole experience was faultless! Arrived to be greeted by a very polite young lady on reception who was very helpful and were given key cards to the most amazing room. The bed was lovely and comfortable and every little detail was thought of , from the tasty grassmere gingerbread right down to binoculars to view the lake. We ate in the bar for lunch and dined in the restaurant on the evening , followed by breakfast the next day and the food was beautiful! Would visit again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone - incredible!! Thank you
Just returned from a mid week break. Absolutely fantastic. Dinner on first night was really lovely. Breakfast is a massive selection, something for everyone. Room warm, spotlessly clean. Bed comfortable and huge. The staff are warm, welcoming, attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Can’t recommend this place enough. The packages they do are great value too.

really beautiful hotel, views on to the lake were amazing, very clean ,great food, very friendly staff. we had room only , however we paid extra for the breakfast, which we did think was expensive. as we did pay £115 for the room. however it was lovely . will stay again :0)
Second time we have stayed here and each time we loved it. The rooms are spotlessly clean, however, I cannot say enough about the staff which I think always makes your stay a good one or an excellent one ! they will do anything within their power to make your stay the best . Fantastic Hotel, warm welcome, comfortable room with a great view of the lakeside, food was excellent and if you like gin, this hotel has the lot, I mean the lot.would recommend it to anyone.
Absolutely fantastic place. Cannot praise this hotel or its staff highly enough. The food and drinks are excellent, The location is absolutely stunning. This is our favourite place of all. We very rarely go back anywhere twice. This was our 5th visit in recent years and hopefully there will be many more to follow. Cannot wait to get back. But please ignore all these fantastic reviews or it will be even more difficult for us to book a room than it is already !!! 😊

We had a 2 night stay with our Border Collie. We were meant to stay in the lake house but there was an issue with the room before we arrived so they upgraded us. Thank you. Beautiful room with views of the lake and perfectly clean. All staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful and approachable. Food delicious. Perfect location . 10/10. Will most definatly book again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Very up market spanking clean hotel bar with a good selection of food. Only went for light bites which were fine, staff were great.
Would have liked to see the same selection of beers as in the sister bar on the waterfront but the pale ale was very good. Great outlook if lucky enough to get seats overlooking the lake. Deffo recommends visiting x

Our first visit to the Lake District and it won't be our last! This hotel was just beautiful. Everything from the staff, decor, food and drinks were just brilliant. The drinks were expensive but the food was VERY good value for money, hats off to the Chefs!! It exceeded our expectations and the fact they were so doggy friendly was perfect for us with our dog. The location is great, everything is in walking distance and some lovely walks just a stones throw away. Ambleside was lovely, with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants all but a few also very doggy friendly. Would highly recomment the Waterhead Inn to anyone staying in the Lake District and I am sure we will be visiting again soon and will maybe try another of their hotels on our next visit.
... the only one recommendation would be to have an outdoor dog tap/hose to be able to wash your dogs down after a walk. We had to use the bath in our room but there was no hand held shower which made it quite difficult. Luckily we did have a Mud daddy which we used the second day, but would be ideal to be able to wash muddy paws off outdoors for ease!!
What a lovely bar/restaurant. Very comfortable place to eat and drink on my own. The room is modern, clean, and welcoming. The mattress is so comfortable... I'm going to have to replace mine at home!
Staff are proactive, and the food is good. The wine is quality. And the views of the lake are relaxing.

Great location, good kitchen with excellent deserts, very friendly to dogs. If you don't like dogs there's a whole dog free area too. The staff was excellent. The rooms are very bed value for the money.

Stayed here for one night on the 10/12/2023 and everything was perfect, staff are incredible and the food was amazing. Hotel room was clean and comfortable and just what we needed with a lovely view of the lake. The location is stunning, the lake is 10 metres from the front door of the hotel, with some incredible views. If you’re visiting the Lake District then definitely recommend this hotel. 10/10!
We just had dinner there, and the game cottage pie was lovely. It came with a side of veg so if I knew this I wouldn't have ordered a side of veg.
Absolutely beautiful rooms. Within walking distance of ambleside town centre. Right on the lake. Food was delicious and service was amazing. Totally dog friendly will definitely return.
