Cuckoo Brow Inn - Ambleside - Photo album

I went here for dinner over the weekend as we where staying in the village. We had a dinner Friday and Saturday. The menu was great and the staff were lovely and friendly . The service was exceptional on the Saturday it was my birthday the put a fire work candle in my cheese cake when they found out
We had lunch there and it was very good. My husband had the steak and Guinness pie, which was a proper pie with a base and I had a Cajun chicken sandwich. The staff were friendly and attentive and the pub is a lovely setting with lots of interesting pictures on the walls.
This is an old-fashioned, cosy country Inn set in a beautiful place. The food is classic and really tasty, and they have a few very good ales on tap. They have a children's menu and are very dog friendly. We visited on a sunny day and it was lovely to sit at the outside tables in front of the main
What a gem of a place .. staff can’t do enough for you … food especially the steak and ale pie and fish and chips are fabulous … showers powerful and hot .. rooms delightful.. open fires downstairs.. we loved it and will be back. Thank you to all at The Cuckoo Brow Inn for making our stay so lovely.
Stayed with friends for first time since Covid having been coming for several years before. Did not disappoint! Cozy, dogs everywhere, fires lit and very friendly staff. The food was excellent . Slightly limited menu but didn’t mind that as quality so good. However if you were staying for longer th
Popped in for lunch and had the best meal we have had for a long time. The menu had great choice and everything was delicious and home made. I would highly recommend the lotus biscoff cheesecake.
Called in for a drink in the afternoon. Bar staff was friendly and polite. Good choice of drinks and very comfortable seating in a good sized lounge and dining area.
We have just had the pleasure of eating Sunday lunch at this wonderful venue . Owners and staff so welcoming , stunning views and our lunch was outstanding. Will be coming back again very soon !
Ate there twice last week. Each time we had lovely food, excellent ales and friendly service, all in a v nice setting. Highly recommended ☺️
I don't want this to sound too critical as I really enjoyed my stay. But there are some items that would have made my stay even better. That is some of the fixtures and items within the room weren't perfect. Poorly installed WC which isn't the correct pan for the frame and it sits too low. (My job i
What a lovely find, the cuckoo brow, the quiet side of lake Windermere, the present team/management are just brilliant at making you at home, open fires, log burners, you are certainly going to feel welcomed, and the food was brilliant, thanks to all the staff, And dogs are very welcome,
Outstanding hospitality very welcoming and a really nice atmosphere the staff are so polite and nothing is to much trouble for them I would highly recommend the food and whole experience in this 1700s Inn you will not be disappointed
Found this little gem whilst on a walk. Staff were lovely, only had a coffee but the drink selection was great and the food menu looked delicious.
Olde worlde charm and if you like being rural, this fits the bill. Food good and varied caters to all tastes, comfortable rooms and communal areas. Can get busy and car park only big enough for about 10 cars, nice seating area outside, but on quite a busy road.
Lovely one night stay at the hotel. We last stayed there a number of years ago and returned because of its location and reputation for being dog friendly. It is under recent new management and still doesn't disappoint. The room was more than adequate for our stay. We, foolishly, forgot our dog bed
We went here on a whim as were staying nearby & reviews were great. This was probably my favourite meal I’d had all week in the lakes! The pan fried cod was delicious and my husband said the pie was incredible-the best steak pie he’d ever had. Really highly recommend this place, the service was incr
Stumbled across this fab little Inn on a wet, windy day on our travels. Great atmosphere and charming feel to the place, wood burner in open fireplace, pet friendly, the cauliflower and cheddar soup was delicious. Main dinner menu looked appetising as well. Shame it was our last day, otherwise we w
