It’s the first place when I ate whole this kind of salad ‘cause the souse wasn’t sour like it’s everywhere! That mayo was perfect for the prawns.
Have eyed this restaurant up several times before whenever I’m up this way, and finally got to go. It did not disappoint. It is very obvious why this place books up quickly with locals and visitors alike. The staff are friendliness personified and professional in a fantastic quayside setting with excellent views out to sea or back towards the stunning skyline of Warkworth. My partner and I went for the seafood platter. It is as you imagined! Simply superb and delicious. Will definitely be back. Thank you!!
Stopped in for coffee and cake just as the scones were coming out of the oven. Smelt so good went for then instead. Only suggestion to improve would be to ditch squirty cream and either offer double or clotted cream, otherwise they were absolutely smashing. Mid morning, mid week so very quiet, took the window corner to enjoy the harbour view.
Lovely hidden gem, fantastic array of local seafood dishes, as well as traditional fish and chips and even some alternatives for non fish enthusiasts such as pizza. Most tables have bench seating which can be slightly awkward but makes up for it with the wonderful atmosphere and service, would come back for sure!

First Time at the Old Boathouse New Year’s Eve 2022. Great atmosphere, service was excellent, staff lovely, food and wine were excellent. We were never rushed or made to feel uncomfortable even though we were an early booking. Would absolutely recommend and go again. Thanks to everyone who made our night special 😊
Despite it being a busy and cold May Bank Holiday, the staff were attentative, and there were heating facilities for the outdoor seating. The fish and squid were fresh and nicely made, but the pricey was quote steep.
Fabulous fabulous food!! The ladies who served us were fantastic and so accommodating for the Gluten Free food.
Our pooch was looked after as well and thoroughly enjoyed his experience

Fantastic place. We went for the sea food platter to share and I was blown away by the quality and the size. I am a sea food lover and have tried sea food platters all over the world, this is one of the best. The quality of the sea food was great as well as the tasty sauces that come with it. We struggled to finish it! The staff were great too.

We had a superb meal here. Tempura soft shell crab was my highlight. The fish was fresh. Views wonderful and the staff friendly. My only complaint is that the rock bass Thai curry possibly needed a little more sauce.
A delicious lunch, the freshest seafood, scallops and langostines served with a hefty scattering of chilli which suited us.
Wouldn’t hesitate to go back for dinner or another lunch if in the area.

Our meal was absolutely delicious, there’s only one thing I would say though, you might want to offer the lobster whole or cut, as I would’ve preferred mine whole,being cut for me,kind of spoiled it a little😳.
The seafood here was very fresh and the chef did a great job with the accompanying vegetables and sauces. My friends and I were so impressed we returned two more times as it is apparent that when one is at Amble one should have the fruits from the sea. Trust their special in the board as they are from the season. Chocolate tart is also nice.
After visiting Warkworth Castle, we were hungry and The Old Boathouse certainly provided! The staff were lovely and helpful and the seafood itself was excellent! Great setting by the harbour, it was quite busy and that says great things about it! Definitely recommend you try it if you're in the area!
The food portions were big, the ingredients were fresh and tasted great. I really enjoyed the dinner. The waitress was first class. I am sad I will not be back for another meal as I will be leaving England tomorrow. I would really love to return.
