Some of the best seafood I have ever eaten, in fact one of the best places I have ever eaten full stop. Went with the sharing platter (more than enough for 2 adults and 2 hungry children, but only 2 oysters) which was expensive, but well worth it. Didn’t need anything else. Ate in one of their sea shacks (think big shed with heater, blankets, cushions) with an incredible view, but went to use the toilet in the main restaurant and it’s even more beautiful. The photos don’t do it justice, but give an idea of how much we liked it. The last photo is the view out of the shack window.
Located on the harbour at Amble. We ate super fresh fish looking at the boats that had caught and landed it. Dining in a cosy garden shed like structure seating for six. Comfortably heated.
Popped in just for a nice hot coffee but have visited many times. Great place in Amble. Stunning views. Warkworth Castle visible overlooking the river. Outside seating area too. What's not to like about the Fish Shack. You pay a little more than average but that comes with the location and stunning view.
Fantastic service by Ryan & great food. We were lucky enough to get a shack as the weather wasn't fantastic.
The beetroot hummus was absolutely delicious & my husband loved the muscles in chilli sauce, portions were very generous! We ordered far too much but as it was all as so lovely we didn't care.
I would definitely recommend a visit & we will definitely return.
Nothing was too much from the wonderful staff & our dogs were made very welcome 😁
We had a lovely lunch at the fish shack. We ordered small plates for starters and large for main. The portions were much larger that we expected but it was our first visit. We look forward to returning soon to sample some more dishes. Service and food quality couldn't be faulted !
If you want seafood, this is the place to go. Fantastic food, great service, and on the harbour side.
We asked if we could book a taxi to get back to our hotel, that was just out of town. There wasn’t any available, however the manager said she would take us back… thank you guys 😜

Well worth the visit. Great service, delicious food and we could take our pooch, Roxy, inside too. Opted for the fish and chips but regret not having lobster instead.
Absolutely stunning seafood and friendly service , a must if you visit amble . It was so good we had to go back the following day for more . Lovely view on the harbour and if you have little ones you can sit and enjoy the good food and drinks while they enjoy crabbing just across the path .
The huts are really lovely and cosy, staff really friendly and food was great. Even for veggie options which is hard to come by at the seaside! We really loved it - a must visit if you come to amble. Thank you 😊
Great fresh fish and a really varied menu. Spent nearly 2hrs having a lovely leisurely lunch watching the boats come in and out of the harbour. Great fish chowder. Relaxing atmosphere. Parking available right behind the Shack. Would recommend 👌.
