What can I say??? Well this is the second time we have been in the last week. Firstly without our boys and the second with. It’s a lovely location which is perfect for us, it’s not too far but far enough that we can forget about our hectic life’s. Lovely food and the hire of the boats is a really great idea. So much so we took our boys back just for the boats. A great calm trip up the river and back again. The staff are also very lovely and pleasant and seem like they enjoy working there. Terry who hire’s out the boats is very friendly and welcoming who explained the use of the boat which put us all at ease. We will most certainly be coming back again!!! Ps you must try the cake or the cream tea or both, we will be having the Prosecco cream tea next time!!!

Been coming here since 1976 when I first paddled to the tea rooms from a scout camp at Bury. This is one of the best incarnations the tea rooms has been through. Friendly staff, good quality and selection of food and drink and great service. If I have to be really really really picky the only thing I miss is not being able to walk away with a lolly or ice cream cone!. If you are in the area it's worth popping in to relax a while by the river. . In fact make a plan to visit this tea room and the local walks and attractions.

Highly recommend both the tea rooms and the boat hire. Staff are helpful, friendly, and what a beautiful way to enjoy the countryside. We will definitely be back to what is possibly one of the “Best things to do in Sussex”. Thank you, The Tickner’s.

We had a fantastic time at the Riverside tea rooms on Sunday celebrating 2 generations of birthdays - Dad and Grandpa! A fabulous lunch, Martha particularly loved her afternoon tea complete with orange squash tea in her teapot (such a lovely idea) topped off with a lovely boat trip down the river. The location is stunning, all of your staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was superb. We’ll definitely be back!

Stopped by this picturesque cafe whilst on a motorbike ride. There was plenty of parking and the cafe is easily accessible from the main road. The location is absolutely stunning with views of the river, bridge, and south downs. Absolutely perfect location. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and whilst there is plenty of seating this is a very popular cafe! Cooked food is not served after 3pm, whilst nice, I think it was overpriced for what it was which is my only criticism - for example I've had a true Cornish cream tea with double the scones for half the price - and that's with tourism prices! Staff were welcoming and friendly.

Ended up here by accident and it was definitely a little gem. Beautiful location. We didn't have a booking but we were still given a nice spot to sit in the shade during one of the hottest days in England. Lovely breakfast and lovely attentive staff that went out of her way to make sure by newborn had shade by providing a second garden umbrella. Definitely recommend this place it has private boat hires too so will definitely try that next time.

Waitress came with ice.sting spray . Couldn't have done more. Good hot. Well presented but what taste.. excellent quality..couldn't fault. Great selection of wines etc can highly recommend the Malbec. Fabulous.. don't pass this hidden gem. Stop enjoy the great views...and enjoy the great food and wine

Fantastic views and location, decent food offering. Visited for breakfast, really loved the setting on the riverside and thought the cafe style menu looked decent. The breakfast is nice, the proper butchers sausages are very tasty, and the price at £12 is about average for cafes. Service was good and they brought out extra plates, highchair etc for our little girl, which is always handy. I wouldn't say the food is exceptional but it's definitely a must visit place just for the setting

Can't recommend the riverside tea rooms enough after visiting yesterday (23/7/23) I was unable to reserve a table but was accommodated on the same day. The service, food and the scenery was outstanding. In my eyes five stars doesn't give this place justice. I'm already planning a return visit as both the restaurant and the boat hire was unbelievable. Thank you all at the riverside tea rooms for such outstanding service 👏

I've driven past here for yrs but never stopped. I finally visited last weekend for lunch. We hadn't booked, but we got there fairly early & were able to get a table outside. Service spot on, food fab, great location....definitely recommend & would definitely suggest booking if able.

Treated my daughter to a scrumptious afternoon cream tea today - four types of finger sandwich, choice of plain or fruit scone with jam and cream, and delicious little cakes with a pot of tea. We sat inside by a window due to the rain but it didn't dampen the hospitality we were met with by the team at the tearoom. I'd definitely go back again!

Lovely location on the river and excellent mountain bikes for hire. We had a great ride in the countryside and the staff were very helpful. The tea rooms decorated my table as I had mentioned it was my birthday, a lovely unexpected touch. Will definitely be back!

Nice but high Price - We have passed this place a number of times heading towards Chichester, so we decided to visit on our Holiday before hiring a boat. Good selection on the menu. If you wish to sit outside near the river suggest you reserve a table asap, as they were all reserved when we arrived. Nevertheless ate inside, slightly long wait but still wholesome food served. Over £30 for two drinks, one breakfast and one sandwich, which I thought was a tad pricey. However the location is pleasant but the parking is very sparse Staff were pleasant and decor nice. Comfortable atmosphere, would visit again... 4/5

Thank you to the staff who were extra attentive and friendly towards me today. So nice to meet such lovely people going the extra mile to get rid of the wasps and stop to have a chat with me as I was travelling through Amberley alone. I'll surely be back with company and for a boat cruise beforehand.

Lunch with 3 friends. The food & service were excellent. The great British weather not so on this visit. We will go back & enjoy the outside space & views on a sunnier day.

Beautiful location, fantastic afternoon tea by the river visited by lots of little birds while sitting in the sunshine watching the river. Loved it! Then hired a boat and spent an hour going along the river. Will be back again with the kids in tow as they will love it too

Lovely cafe with super cakes. The staff are helpful and it is a great place to have afternoon tea. The car park is very small but there is another small car park at the station.
