Review The Bridge Inn - Amberley

We came to dine here twice while staying at the Riverside Lodges just over the road. The food and service was flawless, the portions were generous and all our meals were fresh and delicious! We had the beef burger, halloumi brioche, stuffed chicken pasta and sea bass, plus some starters. The food and drinks are very good value for the price you pay. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We look forward to visiting again soon!

We had a family meal here while out for a walk. Food came in a reasonable time and a decent size and price. Sometimes had difficulty catching the eye of staff. Draught beer and cider includes Stowford Press, Neck Oil and Proper Job which went down well. I had a halloumi burger which had a lovely amount of halloumi and it wasn't chewy but soft, great mix with pesto and peppers. Husband had steak and kidney suet pudding which was a favourite and the rest of the table had scampi (great big fat chips that were crispy and soft inside) and then mackerel pate and prawn cocktail (starters so they could justify dessert). The st Clements cheesecake was full of citrus but no orange and very creamy, otherwise didn't pack much flavour Toilets clean and well looked after

Went in with my wife early one Sunday afternoon and had the best lamb roast I've ever had from a pub. The meat, the veg and the roast potatoes were amazing. We even had extra potatoes gravy on the side, so much food and so delicious. Well worth a visit any day of the week, but especially Sunday 😁

Stopped for a cheeky sunny weekend ploughman's and was most impressed!! Good selection on the menu, friendly efficient staff and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended if you're in the area. Will be back to try a burger or the chicken, palma ham and cheese pasta 👍

Great stop on the South downs route. Stopped here for lunch after crunching some miles on the bikes, fantastic Ploughman's and great service, had Beavertown on tap which was an added bonus. Would certainly recommend and look forward to going back.

We stopped here for lunch, had scampi and chips and burger and chips, lovely food with generous portions. The scampi tasted amazing and the burger was thick! Really good food, lovely pub and the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, pub ran like a well oiled machine, definitely recommended thank you 👍

Food and service are really great. Roasts were amazing. Really fancied coffee after the meal to be told only milk was available with no alternative. Just left two of us disappointed 😞 Please stock alternatives as this was a letdown after such a lovely experience.

We braved the elements on a wet and dreary Monday evening in June to enjoy evening dinner at the Bridge Inn. Having parked in the free car park we entered this gastro pub and were greeted by a friendly young bar maid and an open log fire. We had booked a table in advance and another friendly waitress showed us to our table. There were a few elderly couples already eating but in general the place was quiet. We ordered our drinks, I had a pint of the local Harvey's real ale, and then made our election from the menu. I love whitebait as a starter and the portion provided was generous. I followed this with the steak pie served with new potatoes and assorted vegetables. The others in our party of three also had the whitebait and the baked camembert starter which we all agreed were delicious. For the main course one tried the macaroni cheese and liked it. But the Greek Afelia (pork stew) with rice was rather bland and wasn't a hit. Service throughout was excellent. The tall, young lady waitress was very polite and friendly and did her very best to follow my quips and special sense of humour. The location is lovely. Such a pity that on the evening we came it poured and we all had to sit inside. We tried to imagine sitting outside on a warm, balmy summer evening. We'll be back.

Beautiful pub - very handy for Amberley railway station. 3 real ales available. We didn't try the food. There was a live music duo playing on the Sunday afternoon during our visit. The pub has a beer garden for the warmer months.

Whilst driving home from our holiday yesterday, my wife and I discovered this delightfully English pub, set in the countryside. The atmosphere, food and live music were the perfect and to our time away.
