Birthday Brilliance. Had an AWFUL experience at the Marquis of Ormonde, so we walked out and went to The Hurt Arms instead. I love it there. I had my mushroom and asparagus risotto with parmesan and truffle oil and a mint chocolate cheese cake with mint infused cream to finish.
As always, the atmosphere did not disappoint, the staff (Although busy) were helpful, attentive and friendly and the food was top notch.
The prices are average considering the type of establishment it is and the location. It's not super fancy food, but it's cooked to a very good standard regardless. So don't go in with an expectation of dining on caviar and gold leaf covered truffles. Instead, go in with a view of eating warm, hearty food with a little hint of class that is at a reasonable price for the area.
I highly recommend the Boston Beef to if you get the chance to try it. It's divine!
Came here as a group of 4 for lunch. We had already booked a table and were seated straight away. The service was very friendly and efficient with full table service. Nice ambience and not too busy. We all had the Sunday carvery which was probably the best Sunday lunch I have had in a long time (we all said the same)
So fresh and plentiful. This place is a must visit. Would definitely recommend. We will be back for sure.
Following a visit to the Great British Car Museum, we were looking for somewhere to eat. This was just down the road and so stopped for lunch. The bar area was relatively quiet and easy to find a table. The menu was good and typical of a good pub list. We had steak n ale pie & chips and roast beef sandwiches with chips. Both meals were delightful with plenty of food. Would recommend.
