Really delightful! What a friendly, relaxing and cosy place to while away a rainy afternoon. Super range of titles and I am so impressed with the range of workshops and talks - we are really lucky to have this place in Alton.

Best book storeI’ve been to in ages! Fab and friendly staff, great talks and the community seem to love it. I had the pleasure of having a coffee whilst a local choral group practiced their Christmas Carols. It was simply charming!

A beautiful atmosphere with the most friendliest staff! (And amazing cake) Golfinch Books provides a nice hangout spot whilst also being able to study during quiet times, with a coffee in hand.

Absolutely love Goldfinch Books, which has become a community of like minded souls around Alton, and a must visit place to browse with a cuppa. They have created something special here. Always a warm greeting and lots of fab events and ace bookclub. A great range of books as well!

The owner and family are very pleasant, customer focused people. They have a decent selection of drinks and snacks on offer as well as a good selection of books to have a nose through. The books aren't as extensive as you'll find in Waterstones down the road but the staff here make the difference. There not piles of bestsellers but the selection has some nice eclectic elements that make me wonder "Ooo, I wonder what's between those covers?!?" They also run events in the evenings, including a Dungeons and Dragons evening on a Tuesday. This is for all the roleplayers that can't find another group to play with or want to find more/different people to play with. The ages of the participants vary from school kids to several old farts, myself included. And we just don't D&D, suggest it and someone will want to play it.

We went to Alton to meet up with family on grim rainy Sunday afternoon in January. We were told that this shop was really nice by another local coffee retailer (Coffee Cherry Roaster’s) we walked in an instantly loved it. I found two books straight away. As we sat down to have our drinks, the owner brought over a 1982 paper back copy of one of my favourite books. Now that’s what i call great customer service. I brought it off him there and then. We brought a grand total of nine books while enjoying our drinks. I would strongly recommend this family run coffee shop to anybody. It’s just perfect. Five really big stars
