Amazing place. A hidden gem in Alton, I recommend it to everyone in the area. Fantastic food and even better atmosphere. 5 stars doesn't do it justice!
Beautiful setting so close to Alton Towers . Beautiful gardens and idealic scenery . Great food and friendly hospitable staff. We only had a drink and some food . However if we go again we may stay overnight as they have b&b with quaint rooms .Check it out if you are close š. I would highly recommend this place for families and as a romantic retreat for all ages .
Dropped in last night for food and drinks gorgeous food beautiful setting by the river would definitely recommend.

Have just come back from a 2 night stay here, we will definitely be returning again, the room was amazing with a lovely cosy feel, the food was absolutely amazing and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay enjoyable, we look forward to seeing you again.
We dropped in without booking and the staff happily fitted us in. The food was amazing - risotto, steak pie, sausages and mash and chocolate mints and Freddos were offered along with our bill to the delight of our children! We will definitely return but might be an idea to book next time - just in case!
We stopped here for lunch after a morning at splash landings alton towers.... The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be back thank you to all who works here

Stopped off for dinner before a two hour journey after a family day at Alton Towers. Every member of staff who served us was welcoming and friendly. All of our meals were cooked to perfection. The battered fish and chips was so tasty and the portion was so big I couldn't finish!
The setting is nice with plenty of tables to sit next the river and there is a football goal which is great for kids to use whilst the parents chill. We will definitely back again before the school holidays

I love it here I always love it here food is awesome place is beautiful. Waitress yesterday was a bit hopeless she didn't get our order right and we only ordered two meals it was a lovely day though and she probably didn't want to be there. Beers were spot on never had a bad pint here x
Just had the most fantastic meal here. I cannot compliment them enough. Fantastic service, drinks and food. Brilliant vegetarian selection great choice of deserts, including icecreams for your little ones and not so young adults. They even had strawberry sauce and flakes ;-) . Fantastic job to the whole team. Definately on my shout out about list.

Called in yesterday morning (22/07) on the off chance as I was early meeting a friend for alton towers. Decided to have a breakfast to set me up for the day, I was not disappointed!! Lovely fresh food, the nicest unexpected cheese pancake omelette ever!! Sausages were proper too not the cheap rubbish you find in many places. Very welcoming and friendly staff, will definitely call again pre theme park!!

Been here tonight for a date with my partner, beautiful pub, so nicely decorated! Toilets lovely & clean! Me & my partner both had 3 courses including a risotto I made up myself that they did for me no problem! Pudding we had a chocolate fondue sharer which was amazing ļæ½ 100 percent recommend to anyone wanting some lovely food in a lovely atmosphere to try here!! Worth every penny ļæ½
Recently visited twice during short break to Alton. Great food and service, we appreciated the patience shown to our 2 loud and tired children! Would recommend and hope to visit again.

If I could give more I would, service is amazing, staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is delicious and so well presented, I've never had something on a rustic wooden board before. When I'm next in Alton I will most definitely be back.
Absolutely stunning food and service by a girl who has long blond hair . The food was exceptional and tasted so lovely. The only thing I felt bad about was that they couldn't take tip on card as they would be taxed and I didn't have any cash so I felt terrible as she deserves a big tip!
Food was nice but seemed to take forever. Luckily the kids food came out quickly but the adult mains took an additional hour to come out (at least). It was the little ones birthday but had to shelve doing his birthday cake as it got too late.
Staff are friendly and the beer garden next to the river was a nice touch. There is a road in between the pub and the garden, so kids should be accompanied if going out.
Menu was a little limited but food was good quality.
Just a shame about the long wait, it was quite painful trying to keep the kid entertained as he finished his way before everyone else's food appeared.

If your staying at Alton Towers, it's only a few mins drive away and it's worth it just for the relaxation and chill out time. Just make sure you book ahead of time.
Havenāt stayed there just called in for coffee. Very nice people there very helpful and friendly. The cream scones were very very nice. Just a couple of miles from Alton Towers well worth a visit.
Great place and great atmosphere food is good but quite expensive for what it is and ur to a function was service from a hatch outside style though a beautiful day which helped. Worth a visit just be prepared to pay a little extra for location

We stayed overnight at this wonderful hotel and restaurant with our 3 year old daughter to celebrate my partnerās 40th birthday. It was amazing from start to finish, the attention to detail, quality and rustic charm of the room with an amazing view and a really luxury feel.
Nothing was too much trouble, our evening meal was just delicious and breakfast the next morning delightful. Our daughter even got a little chocolate treat from the staff when we left!
We were heading to Alton Towers water park the next day and decided against staying at AT due to previous bad experiences of the food at the hotels there. So so glad we found this little gem of a place! Only 6 minutes drive to Alton Towers the next morning, arrived fresh, fed and well rested for a full run day at the water park!
Would 100% recommend this place and will definitely return again for future visits to the area.
Meeting family halfway and chose restaurant at random but what a great restaurant, an absolute must! The food was truly delicious, could not fault anything at all. Some of us had the festive Christmas menu, others had normal menu and EVERYTHING was delicious! The lamb stew was amazing š¤¤ I am still dreaming about it! Staff were really nice and very accomodating too, made us all giggle and feel really welcome! Decor is lovely too. We had a really great evening - just lovely! Thank you! Will definitely be back š
The homemade pie was to die for and the nachos were ace! Would 100% recommend a glass of wine by the river also. Thanks for a lovely time!
