Austens cafe is a fantastic place to go to both relax on your own and with friends and family. I highly recommend every thing. Especially their coffees and cakes. but every thing is delious that they serve in the cafe I would recommend her to any one who asked were they should go.

Had afternoon tea for mum's birthday. Was a lovely treat. Great selection of sandwiches , ( my fave was roasted pepper and goats cheese!) Petit four and scones with plenty of jam and cream. Washed down with prosecco. Would highly recommend.
We love Austen’s! Always a friendly and accommodating welcome and the food is delicious, with new items and specials always being added to the menu - this morning we had pancakes for breakfast (for Shrove Tuesday). Thanks Jonathon - definitely my favourite place for food (and the occasional alcoholic treat!)

I can not Thank you enough for our amazing Mother’s Day afternoon tea! You were incredible catering for all our dietary needs! The platers were very generous and extremely tasty. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for great home cooked food for occasions or just a quick cuppa and piece of cake! Not only is the food amazing but Jonathan and co go out of there way to ensure your visit if perfect x

Stonkingly good. Tastefully and tidily layed out inside this place is a gem. Took us a while to deicide what to eat as it all looked so good and I have to say that was the best pizza I've had in a very long time (stuff the chain Italians across the way go here!). The chap who runs it is friendly, effective and an all round joy. Can't wait to try the courtyard in the summer. Baby and dog friendly is just the icing on the cake. I must go back and try the cakes.

We decided that Austen’s was the most appropriate place for my grandmothers wake. Jonathon looked after us all, was so chatty and polite to everyone, we can’t thank him enough. We were already regulars to the cafe but Jonathon worked so hard for us and our grandma and we just can’t appreciate that enough!!
Another great experience had by my daughter (18 months old) and me. Friendly, helpful and very obliging. Lovely food and the cake was awesome too. I recommend Austen’s if you fancy a quick bite or a long lunch.
I soo love this place!. Have been here twice now...full English Breakfast...superb...Cheese on toast with Ketchup and Branston pickle yesterday..People..this is the place to go for food!. Superb service, excellent food :)

Had a lovely tapas night to celebrate a friends birthday. Excellent value and the rhubarb and ginger gin cocktails were spot on. The service and ambience are a real selling point.
Popped in for brunch after my daughters wedding yesterday. There were 6 of us, four adults and two children under 8yrs. The owner was great at making us feel welcome and attentive to our needs. Breakfast menu didn't disappoint we enjoyed the food and coffee 😋
First of all the best service I've ever experienced in a cafe, the food is also amazing quality, I have been a chef in a couple of 5 star restaurants and can't fault it. Over all I think this is my favourite cafe now, especially with the amaretto latte, many other amazing flavours to choose from too.

After a horrible journey from Plymouth, my blood sugars dictated that I should eat and I found Austen's café. I was greeted with such friendliness that it made me feel like I was coming home, how lovely. The food I had was fabulous and presented impeccably. Such lovely people. Thank you to them.
Found this gem in Alton, not only was the breakfast lovely and good value but the owner was super friendly and funny. Engaging with all his customers and a true local ensuring his elderly customers were looked after by putting on special affordable meals for them. A rare find and highly recommended.
I booked afternoon tea here for a surprise for my friend's birthday. Everyone absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, the presentation was incredible and the host Jonathan was a wonderful host!

Popped in for a cuppa tea while waiting on the better half , when she arrived we ordered breakfast 🍳 this consisted of one poached egg and beans on toast and one full English breakfast.
It didn’t take long for us to clear the plates both meals were cooked from fresh no precooked rubbish , so expect to wait just a little bit longer but we’ll worth the wait .
It had a very diverse menu and offers a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks so can cater for everyone’s needs.
Jonathan looked after us and was very good at it, attentive friendly and not over the top 🔝 I’d highly recommend this for any meal time x great looking and clean 🧽 which is always a must xx

Always a pleasure going here for coffee, even when it's a take away. Went for a Christmas afternoon tea and it was delicious. The mulled wine was perfect, sandwiches included brie and cranberry and the cake was gorgeous. Portion size perfect, we almost couldn't manage it all. Service is always friendless and informal. Just a great place.
