I visited at lunchtime on a Monday, Sun was very hot outside so sat inside in the cool. Friendly smiley staff greeted us, said we can sit anywhere we wanted so chose a window seat with a nice breeze. Good food. Went on a Friday, there was a curry buffet, but none of my party sampled it, we ordered from the menu (pub classics). Staff were friendly, it had a nice feel about the place. The only irritating part was that children permitted to run around.

The Hen and Chicken is a fabulous place to eat out or just for a drink. They have a great kids menu, a 7 days a week carvery and a pizzeria in the new Barn area plus a small play area outside for the kids.
The staff are very helpful and accommodating and the food is gorgeous. Definitely a 5 star eat
Absolutely superb Trout in Toasted Almonds dressing service as one would accept from this First Class Pub Restaurant.
M y friend had Burger which it would be unfair to comment because it contained one or two ingredients she did not like but commented on the meal as enjoyable.
