Top place for steak ! Very reasonable and cozy , love the shed head beer and I could eat a bucket of the spicy prawn starter ... Yummy !!!
Couldn't fault a thing. Beautiful steak and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Fabulous.
Mouth watering steak perfectly cooked and so tender. The tempura prawns were also delicious.
A wide selection of gins, wines and liqueurs available with detailed descriptions and ideal pairing with tonic or alternative.
Will definitely be going back.
Service was very good and the staff were attentive.

I wish I had discovered this place sooner. I finally went to The Porterhous on 04/08/2020 for the first time after driving past it many, many times. What a great little place ! Both my husband and I were very impressed with the whole experience. The food was absolutely delicious, seasoning and spices were spot on and the portions were very generous. In fact, I decided I would most certainly visit again before I had even finished my starter. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a cut of steak I hadn't heard of before on the menu, however the server who took the order made me feel so comfortable that I had no hesitation in asking what it was. She took the trouble of asking the chef exactly what it was and then came and told me. I had the salt and pepper shredded chicken strips, followed by the rump steak. I can highly recommend both dishes. The only fault I could find about the whole night was that I was too full for any pudding. Maybe next time. This was one of those occasions were my husband and I just liked everything about the place, even down to having very nice glasses for our drinks. Very highly recommended and no hesitation in giving 5 stars.
Food was delicious, had tempura prawns as a starter - wow full of flavour, delicious! Then had the rump bistro - I swear my taste buds sang!! Beautifully presented, hot,cooked exactly as requested - loved the tomato and mushroom and the peppercorn sauce was amazing. So glad we called in and would highly recommend, will definitely be going again and again...

The food was top drawer and the host was helpful and friendly.
The place is small which is not necessarily a negative.
However, the prices for drinks are expensive. (Really expensive)
5* for food and service. (Fantastic)
4* for food price. (Reasonable)
2* for drink price. (Dire)
We will undoubtedly return, but next time I will drive.
Lovely place amazing food. Made to feel very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. The mushroom stroganoff was so tasty. Will definitely be back.
The food here is always top notch and with good service too. The early bird menu is great value and a good way to try the place out if you want to. If you really want to treat yourself order the Porterhouse steak. Delicious and not often offered at other steakhouses

What a little Gem, first time we had tried the restaurant last night and we were not disappointed at all, the food was excellent, service and staff very attentive and friendly with a great selection of drinks, try the Gin menu highly recommended. Eraly bird menu fantastic value.... Keep up the great work and we for sure will be back soon...
Went last night for the first time. Nothing too much trouble and the food was faultless. Why would you go to Miller and Carter when you have this place on your doorstep at comparable prices?

Food was absolutely perfect, in a cosy but not cramped setting. My only criticism was that the wait for food was quite long (~40 minutes), but it was for a party of 8 so that's understandable. And it was definitely worth the wait!
Really enjoyed our meal here, friendly service and cosy atmosphere along with great steaks.My wife at the 8oz rump said it was the best she ever had and I tried a piece and it was excellent highly recommend and looking forward to going back soon .

Fabulous steakhouse, excellent steaks. They make great homemade chips and cut them slightly thinner for us as that's the way we prefer them.
Loved this place. Cook your own steak (or halloumi) on your own hot plate. Friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.
