A charming Country Pub with framed photos of horses and horse riders, etc. There is a huge garden, easily seating 100 people, plus a large car park around the back. There is also a children's outdoor play area with swings and a climbing frame. The pub feels cosy and authentic inside, but the best part is the food! Most of the ingredients and produce are locally sourced, and the portion sizes are very generous. The sausages are from a farm in Alresford, and there was homemade locally sourced venison burger on the menu, too. Also a good selection of local ales, including a golden Hinton ale, which is one of their own beers, and very nice it was too! Excellent.
Very efficient well run traditional English pub. The large menu with all your favourites makes it very difficult to choose what to eat. The enormous mixed grill with chips and side salad is a contender for "Man v Food". Even my gammon meal was large enough for 2. A specials board full of great food and indulgent choice of desserts too. Unbelievably good value. Excellent attentive service.
Went here a couple of weeks ago after The Great South Run ...the food was delicious , I had the lamb roast it was bang on. Everyone else had a mixture of things , Fish cakes , Sausage and mash , Carbonarra , Beef roast ๐ all agreed it was lovely. The staff were very good .Thanks ๐๐ป
Could not fault our visit to the Hinton Arms today.
All staff were very friendly, welcoming, attentive and professional.
As for the food, there is a fantastic choice, every dish we saw coming out made our mouths water. We eventually settled for the venison rump and calves liver. Both dishes had very generous portions, and tasted fantastic, in fact the venison was the best I have tasted for quite a few years.
Looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.
The food was delicious and good quality, portions were also generous, asked to replace New Potatoes for dauphinoise and got it! ๐ Staff were also extremely friendly and welcoming. The decor and atmosphere is brilliant for a nice little country pub/restaurant... Highly recommend and suggest having food here!! ๐๐๐๐
Always driven past the Hinton Arms but never visited - today was the day my car took a right turn and I was in the car park!! The flowers outside the pub were amazing - on entering the pub a warm welcome by the staff. Food was excellent, served in quick time and plenty of it, room for dessert - just - and this didnโt disappoint. If youโre near the area and looking for a value for money lunch / dinner the Hinton Arms is the place for you. Worth more than 5 stars in my opinion!!
Beautiful, traditional pub serving wonderful food in lovely surroundings, with pleasant, friendly staff.
Tremendous, well varied menu to suit all dietary needs. We had lunch of deep fried brie, followed by sole in a mussel sauce, accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes & fresh vegetables. Absolutely stunning, so much food that we were unable to manage dessert.
Really good value for money, can't wait to visit again.
Always looks inviting, beautiful flowers around the building. Lovely country pub and restaurant, food Lovely, staff so polite Always welcoming. Other places should look at this an realise how they could make their places look more welcoming. As so many just can not be bothered and wonder why they end up closing.
Well done Hinton Arms .
Very friendly and helpful staff. A good plateful of food. Couldn't have eaten starter or sweet too. Nice pint. Lovely pub.
I pass this pub often during my work travels and it always struck me as a pub I wanted to visit. It didn't disappoint.
This pub has a great country atmosphere. It was busy and would recommend booking in advance but we were able to get a table for 2.
Food was excellent and I can recommend the haddock fish cakes. Price is very good for the quality and portion size.
