I stayed for two nights, it was lovely would definitely recommend. Front of house, domestic team were really helpful.
The food was outstanding, twelve of us ate and everyone really enjoyed their food, nothing left on any plate. I also had two breakfasts, beautiful wish I could have stayed longer and tried more of the menu!
We went in to watch the last bit of football with a soft drink and decided to have food. The food was just incredible! Well done! The staff were also very friendly, welcoming and helpful!
We managed to get in here at short notice and were pleasantly surprised. It's a busy place with a high turnover but service was good. Food was nice and a decent portion.
Pictures shown: mixed meats Sunday dinner including chicken, pork belly, beef and lamb with Yorkshire puds, stuffing and mixed vegetables and fish & chips.
Only (very minor) criticism was the weird small rectangular plates which were given with the sharing platter. Impractical to eat off, but that's not a massive problem!
Great place to watch sport, have a beer and have food.
We had breakfast here, I recommend the Plough if you're staying in Alnwick
Recently re furbished, nice room, good food and very friendly staff. Free car parking at the rear, but front entrance quite narrow for large cars!
Quite substantial glass tumbler on glass shelf directly over sink. Not a good idea, sink had already been cracked, by a previouse guest dropping the glass into the sink. Far safer with plastic cups and cheaper for the plough.
Fabulous overnight stay here. Great selection of alcohol and other drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Food at dinner was outstanding. Shower needed more pressure but plenty of hot water. Overall excellent.
Went in for a quick drink. Excellent service and drinks
Very nice bnb close to Alnwick town centre. My room was called fettle. Nice bathroom, comfy bed but tv too small. Fantastic food i had a sunday roast, try the gravey its amazing.i also had a curry, didnt want monkfish n prawn they accomdated me with making chicken and making it spicey. Just 2 things let it down size of tv with isnt that bad and the noisey maserator on thr toilet. Other than that great stay and recommend it.
Looks a bit out strange when you first enter but near with it. The restaurant is upstairs and the food really good. My home made steak pie was excellent and the fish pie got top marks from my wife. Staff were pleasant and helpful and prices fair.
Beautiful place, nice pint, lovely food... Neil is a top fella who runs the plough. I go up to visit Alnwick Alot to relax & always pop in for a pint or 3. Highly recommend this place 🍺✨
Amazing Sunday lunch. Great price also. Staff friendly and helpful.
My wife and I enjoyed our evening at The Plough. The drinks were fairly reasonable, and we had a lovely bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.
The food was tasty and satisfying and this service was attentive.
Had a really lovely meal at The Plough went in early so quite quiet but the food was delicious, definitely recommend.
Food was very good but the atmosphere was lacklustre. The service wasn't bad. All in all it was ok but not 5 star.
At first I only chose the Plough because it's walking distance from the venue of a wedding I was attending, but it was a lucky choice. This C19th coaching inn was fully redecorated recently and gives a very comfortable stay. Several guests joined me for dinner before the wedding, and were all well fed (pub favourites, locally sourced specials and novelties - Asian spiced hake for me - all dietary requirements covered). For breakfast I stuck to cereal and croissants hot from the oven, but there were several tasty cooked breakfast options too. Special thanks to Ellie for her help throughout the weekend.
