Fantastic little tea shop, food and cake to die for and all homemade. Lovely staff and atmosphere in a converted stable. Discovered this place out cycling and since took my Wife and Mum for lunch. Highly recommended. Thank you so much. Will definitely go again.

Despite my persistence the lady in charge and who does the cooking turned down my proposal of marriage! However, her husband accepted!!! The food here is fabulous and I am concerned that if it gets too many good write ups I won't be able to get a table on my next visit. Seriously though they are nice people providing lovely food with excellent service. And if that doesn't get me a free scone I don't know what will!!!!!

We visited this cafe for the first time last week. What a find! We had chicken truffle pate and salad beautifully arranged on the plate (and a refreshing relief from the usual horrible supermarket bagged salads you get everywhere these days). Delicious. We went mad and had cake too; so happy that we did. We had raspberry victoria sponge and lemon and orange drizzle cake; we had half each - so light it was surprising that they didn't float off the plates. Friendly and efficient service too. Thank you very much. We will definitely return. Anne

Lovely coffee even better tea cakes! At last we have found somewhere that does put more fruit in their tea cakes than most around this area. The orange and almond cake has come home with us - looking forward this afternoon's cup of tea and cake in our garden!

My first time at The Stables. Absolutely perfect. Very tasty food made with good quality, fresh ingredients. Well presented and cooked. For me it was great to find a café that offers Darjeeling and pops the tea on a separate dish so I can get the strength of tea I like. Another fantastic thing for me is that they do not automatically put dressing on the salad - it is served separate. Lovely surroundings too. Love the twinkly lights too!

Popped in for lunch with my husband after visiting Alnwick, what a pleasant discovery! Sandwich and toastie were tasty, the pot of tea hit the spot! The Apple and Date chutney was a delight 😋

Visited on Thursday 16th June with my wife and my 86 year old mother. Tea room was easily accessible from the car park as my mother has mobility issues. We all had the afternoon tea which was probably the nicest we have ever had. Lovely sandwiches made with homemade bread, corned beef pie was really nice and tasty, fruit scones with jam and cream, cheese scones were huge with lovely home made chutney. We chose the chocolate brownies which were to die for. Very friendly atmosphere and service. Will definitely be visiting again.

I go to The Stables regularly with my 90 year old mum. Staff are very friendly. The food is simple but always done well. Best tea room, certainly in Alnwick, even possibly the whole of Northumberland.

Brilliant restaurant food excellent and staff really lovely. You can sit inside or outside great prices and really quick service. Only open 3 days a week from Friday to Sunday and from 10:00 to 15:00. Well worth a visit and easy to find just off A1 at the Alnwick gardens sign. Just follow signs for Eglingham and it's just off the first roundabout you come to.
