Worth coming off the motorway to visit this pub nestled in a village setting. Lovely olde worlde type of pub with a great history and a stunning Sunday lunch menu. Really clean. Dog friendly.
Great pub nice food. Stayed overnight lovely quaint room pub set in a small village tucked away
love this little pub watched the England semi final everyone was really friendly and a great atmosphere thanks everyone who was there especially Lauren
Lovely place cant wait to go back which will be very soon
A lovely pub! We went on a Friday night and the service was terrific!
Great position for business in Bristol - lovely location great breakfast
Really good food and lovely service
We love coming here it's so COSY clean and welcoming
What a great find, we were visiting Bristol to attend a meeting and decided to stay here. A fabulous pub, amazing service and food - the breakfast is to die for! I have only given four stars for the room because there wasn't a great deal of space, having said that it had all we needed and in view of the fact that this is an old building I am possibly being a little tough! We would definitely stay here again and most certainly recommend the food to anyone in the area who wants a meal.
A warm, welcoming pub atmosphere and the same from every member of staff we encountered too. The beer was kept beautifully and all the food we had over 2 days was excellent. We'll certainly visit again.
Lovely village location, carpark opposite so ease of moving luggage. The pub had a lovely atmosphere, and a peaceful location. Went for an enjoyable walk around the village. Our room was large and very nicely decorated and furnished. Food was superb, plenty of choice for breakfast. We had a great time and would stay again. Lauren was very helpful with tips on good places to visit and told us about park & ride into Bristol which was so convenient.
We went there as it was close to picking up my step-son at the nearby camp. What an absolute delight. Lovely atmosphere and decor. The food was remarkable. I had the squid to start and my wife the polenta fries. The taste of the fries were amazing with an Arabian taste. Stunning.
I had the the Sunday beef roast and I have to say it was one of the nicest I’ve ever had. The beef was cooked to perfection, a medium rare finish.
We are looking forward to coming back! Thanks all.
Excellent location ,beautiful setting . Comfortable rooms with a quirky likeable style. Felt homely and upmarket. Evening meal was excellent with good range of choices. All staff were friendly and excellent service.
Breakfast was of a very high standard ....although would have liked choice of cereal , granola yoghurt then a cooked breakfast , you could only choose one or the other which was fine for me but not my husband. Wouldn't have minded paying extra.
Was excellent value for money .
Stopped off for lunch during a journey home from the South West. Lovely cozy inn with friendly service. The food is absolutely exceptional with great vegan options. I wouldn’t describe the service as quick but I’d rather wait a little longer in order to receive well prepared food like this than to get a quicker but boring and bland meal. They have rooms here too and I’d imagine it’s a great place to stay.
Great pub with a lovely atmosphere, doesn’t feel like a chain pub at all. Friendly staff and a varied menu. Food served quickly and was tasty. Lots of drink variety too, will definitely return
We had a lovely Sunday roast and the most perfect brownie (chocolaty, gooey in the middle and cracked outer) and illy espresso, creamy ice cream! Everything was just perfect - such great quality food and portion sizes were spot on (if not a little too big!). Service was all friendly, helpful and prompt. Honestly the best pub meal we’ve had in a long time (we eat out regularly). We will definitely return next time we’re in the area
Spent a couple of nights at the Bowl Inn as a base for touring the local area.
Service was excellent and the room was stunning with its exposed beams and stonework. Bed was very comfy.
we had one evening meal and two breakfasts and the food was all well presented and very tasty. I would certainly recommend staling at the Bowl.
We’ve been here a handful of times and each time it has been brilliant. The food is honestly fantastic - a real cut above the normal pub food, and the staff are brilliant too. Lots of parking - just remember to put in your registration number in the machine inside so it’s free. We have mainly sat inside but there are also a number of tables outside either side of the (not very busy) road. Some dog friendly tables inside, and dogs welcome outside.
Excellent food and service. Very friendly and helpful staff.
One suggestion - please consider not putting a large party amongst all other tables. We were looking forward to a quiet evening over a meal to catch up with friends (just 4 of us as we have done a few times before) but on the adjacent table you had a party of about 14. With that number the volume of conversation is understandably very high and it made it very difficult for us to hear each other and chat.
Wonderful old style pub wi to great selection of ales and other drinks. Food was also very good. In a beautiful location off the beaten track. Parking is good but you must register your car on arrival to prevent a fine.
Amazing stay, we felt welcome from when we arrived. The food was fantastic and the rooms cosy. We would definitely stay at another Butcombe brewery inn again.
Beautiful room and the food is consistently great. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Could not ask for more. We actually stayed here on our wedding night and they we able to check us in a little earlier than planned to work around our day. Thank you.
Absolutely fabulous stay at The Bowl, a wonderful olde world pub/restaurant in a superb spot in a small village. Everything was perfect, room, dining, breakfast, staff. We enjoyed a two day break at The Bowl and would enthusiastically recommend it to family and friends. The staff are friendly, attentive and extremely helpful.
Breakfast at The Bowl is a wonderful feast with such an extensive menu to cater for everyone’s taste. The restaurant menu gave us plenty of choice for our evening meal but we chose the popular battered hake and chips, and we were not disappointed at all, delicious!!
If in the area again, we would definitely stay at The Bowl.
Thank you to the staff for making us so welcome.
