2nd visit in three weeks today 15/05/18 had to come back just to make sure first time wasn't a fluke and it wasn't . Got to be the best home cooked pub food in Cumbria and the Lake district. Staff are lovely. Accept dogs just put that in even though I don't own a dog. I had the lovely perfect cooked scampi , gorgeous home made chips and mushy peas , wife had one of the best lasagna she has ever had and it's her favourite eating out dish Garlic bread very fresh how come Italian restrauants mess up garlic bread perfect here and she loved her salad and homemade coleslaw, dad had Roast lamb with two perfect Yorkshire puddings, mash and roast potatoes and three veg , Dave had jacket cheese and coleslaw , I used the free gateaux voucher or ice cream or get one of your homemade apple crumble and custard for £2.50 which was delicious. Drinks very reasonable. Couldn't leave a review on trip advisor as I left one three weeks ago when I gave you four stars today you would of got five going on super six stars if they done it. The vegetables were very colourful and offering a upgrade on the pudding great . Even though it a 170 miles round trip for us it's very worth a day visit . In fact it's worth lots of visits and I,ll be doing just that.

Just eaten here tonight. I had lasagne, chips, salad and garlic bread. My husband had pie, chips and veg. Both meals were fantastic, best chips we’ve had. Service was good too. We’ll definitely be returning

Great place we always visit. A must go place when near Allonby. Excellent food and great Ales. Staff are friendly, helpful and Jack's Surf Bar has games and is, of course right on the shore.

Not visited for a while, but can't really fault things, different menu and food prices up but that normal especially since been a while since our last visit. Food was good, staff helpful and was quick service, we were in a group of 12 and everyone enjoyed their food, can't wait to return.

The food was nice and tasty! The chips were top notch, the pub inside looks a little dated I feel that Allonby was once a bigger seaside destination but that's unfortunately long gone and so the pub has suffered because of it, if your in or passing by this is safe place to eat 🙃

Very meaty proper Turkey and Ham pie with plenty of chips, full gravy boat and veg was very filling. Bar in a good location next to beach but having games machines in the entrance was a bit off putting; food more than made up for the atmosphere.

Lovely friendly place to enjoy your meal very clean and things for kids to do while they're waiting saves them being bored. Staff are lovely to. Parking is free across the road from the pub. They have two ways in from the main door left for the bar and right for the restaurant. I've been lots of times over several years and have always had the big jack burger it's lovely the kids meals are quite big to would feed a small child up to about a 12 year old. They are even happy to do kids size roast dinners even though they're not on the menu they accommodate for that. Lovely place. There's outside seating to for the warmer days.

I visited this pub briefly while on holiday in the lake district. I thought the peaceful and relatively quiet town was a well needed relief to the overwhelming feelings that I have had since moving to the UK. The pub reminded me of many pubs back home in Australia with space and and airy atmosphere. We did not have any food but the beer was good and service was easy. Based on my first impressions, I recommend stopping there

I can't praise this place enough! We love coming here and we are never disappointed, we both had prawn sandwiches with chips coleslaw salad with a drink, the staff couldn't do enough for us, mam found it drafty so they advised us where to go, they were very accommodating but the meal was amazing! Too much we took half home and had them with some crisps! We are coming back in August
