Had a fabulous meal here after Christmas. I was very impressed with the gluten free options on the menu as I am coeliac. There was plenty of choice and the meal was delicious, staff friendly too. I would highly recommend the Woodsman.
Excellent place to eat! Lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff very friendly and helpful whilst very efficient and the service faultless. The food was cooked to perfection and served hot, the portion sizes were good and it was a great mix of seasonal veg, will definitely eat here again when back in the area

Just had a terrific afternoon meal for my eldest daughters birthday. Party of 13, which included 2 babies, and we couldn't have been made more welcome. Food was good, staff were lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This is now my favourite place for family gatherings. We'll definitely be back!! Thankyou.
What a night! 14 of us there on sat 17th March for my stepdad's 70th, staff were fantastic, from the decorations to the service, to the timing of courses being served, everything was 100% from them. The meal itself was amazing, a few wee tweaks were made to suit certain diets, with no fuss at all from kitchen staff, so many many thanks to them! Would highly recommend whether it's a family get together or just a meal with friends!
Highly recommend! Food was yummy, service was fantastic and even though I’m coeliac I still had lots of choice from the menu including a very nice strawberry and rhubarb cheesecake for dessert. Will definitely be back.
Warm and welcoming atmosphere every time we've had a meal here, whether it be a special occasion or just a treat. The staff are always so pleasant and talkative and nothing has ever been too much trouble. The food is amazing although I've yet to be able to manage a pudding after the main meal! Couldn't recommend it more, me and the family will certainly be back again in the near future.
Another lovely meal with great service. Food always nice and loads to choose from. Freshly cooked and well presented. Friendly & helpful staff, it's a wee gem of a place I love to eat in when staying at the Woods caravan park.
Had a lovely meal here earlier this week. So many restaurants around were closed on a Monday but very glad we found the Woodsman. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Good value and very child friendly - kids got to make up their own desserts. Would highly recommend.

Stopped here for dinner on our travels through Scotland and had a great time. Beautiful restaurant with lots of fresh options. Got roast chicken and a leek and potato pie; both were delicious. Nice selection of changing specials. Great place to take the family for a nice meal if travelling through the area.
A wee hidden gem.
We were served by friendly staff, who were happy to chat and give recommendations about the local area. They advised booking in advance for evenings and weekends.
Great choice of dishes and a specials menu to suit all tastes and smaller portions available. Only wish we'd had room for dessert.
Myself and my family have had loads of food there 100/per cent recommended.
Even had a few beers after our meals.

Good food in a great location. Staff are brilliant. The crowd tends to be a wee bit older, and the atmosphere is relaxed and easygoing. I've been a few times and doesn't disappoint. The food is good but not great.

First time eating here and was definitely a great choice. Fantastic food. Chicken fajitas were unbelievable and the fish was fresh and tasty. Staff were really friendly but not to intrusive. Definitely be returning.
Called in as we were staying at the site next door. They were busy, but accommodated us no problem. We'll worth it. The food was fabulous and we sat for a couple of hours at leasure. I would highly recommend if you are in the area.
What a brilliant combination of excellent food and friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant was busy so we would have understood if the service had been slow, or a bit stressed, but every member of staff who served us was prompt, efficient and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening 😊
