First time visiting today and I can't believe we've never been before as we don't live far away. Superb food (I had 3 courses and each was delicious), friendly welcoming staff and great service. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

We called on Tuesday evening for a meal, we were greeted by a lovely friendly member of staff behind the bar, who took us through to our table in the dining room where we ordered sirloin steaks & a bottle of wine, for deserts we chose grape & butterscotch cheesecake. The food was amazing! as was the service. If you are ever in the Allerthorpe/Pocklington area then this is ‘the pub’ to visit. Highly recommended.

4 of us booked in for 1pm Friday. Great food. So sorry we hadn't realised the pub closed at 3pm & we had to be ushered out at 3.30pm! Our fault lol

The Plough Inn is a nice traditional village pub. There is a nice bar and several other rooms. There is a good selection of beers lager and cider including cask conditioned real ale. The pub is popular for its home cooked food. The staff are friendly and welcoming, there are no bar games. There is plenty of parking and outside seating.

Popped in on Sunday 3.30pm. Had the most amazing Vegetarian Sunday lunch with butternut squash pie, loads of vegetables, roasts, Yorkshire, stuffing balls. Followed by a delicious home made biscoffe cheesecake..scrumptious! Service quick. Quiet when we arrived ...just as we like it.. but they had had a busy lunch. Landlady very friendly. Chef fabulous! Highly recommended!

Just visiting for a quiet weekend away and had a warm welcome to the pub on entry. Asked if we could have some dinner and they supplied us with menus and we were eating within 30 minutes. Perfectly presented and absolutely lovely food, very impressed! Homely feel all round. Definitely recommend!

Had a very nice quiet afternoon lunch with Mrs and the dogy. Food was excellent, had fish and chips, loved the fish, beautifully crispy batter, golden huge chips and lovely mushy peas. Try biscoff cheese cake, it is lovely. Atmosphere was calming and relaxing, people were super friendly and happy. Lovely experience. If you're about, and love English classic style pubs, I would recommend.

Great little village pub with bags of atmosphere and a strong link to the bomber squadrons that flew from Pocklington airfield during WWII. There are loads of photos, squadron badges etc, on display. We had a drink, went for a lovely 4 mile walk through the woods on Allerthorpe Common, then returned for a meal and more drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful. Although there was a fairly limited choice of beers, what they had were very well kept, Timothy Taylors being the best. The food was excellent, a very good menu with plenty of choice, even for the vegan in our party and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended

Came here on Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend. It's a lovely picturesque pub in the equally lovely picturesque village of Allerthorpe. I had the gammon streak and my wife has the chicken burger. The food was fairly priced and of good quality, we both really enjoyed our visit here. I expect I'll frequency visit this place from now on, well recommended.

Honestly the best meal out we've had in years. Booked for a family birthday meal and requested a dining pod. Perfect for allowing the kids to enjoy themselves without worrying about keeping them on their seats! The owner is fantastic, friendly, upbeat and full of energy, but not overbearing. He strikes the perfect hosting balance! The waiting staff were lovely, very attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb. Obviously quality ingredients expertly cooked with very generous portions. Not the cheapest but certainly not overpriced and, bearing in mind the quality of the food and service, I would say excellent value for money. Will definitely be back again soon and I cannot recommend this place enough.

Great beer, friendly staff, good food. There's a lovely beer garden out the front, and plenty of seating inside. Their fries are the best... sweet potato, halloumi or regular potato - they're all awesome. Serves a good pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord....
