Not for the faint hearted! Paul the Landlord is an enigma! You have to have a sence of humour and not to be easily offended. Don't be surprised if you are told in "expletives" to leave the establishment especially if you are a hiker and order coffee! All part of the experience. Full of character with open fire, pub grub intetesting people. Dogs and Cats welcome. Easily the best Pub in England.

What a pub!!!!!! Another fantastic find. A proper pub, with proper folk. We've not eaten here, only been in the bar, but would recommend it to anyone. Traditional pub, good beers, staff really friendly, as are the locals. We felt so welcome and comfortable. Thank you. Edit: We did end up eating here. We weren't sure what to make of crispy squid with pineapple and chilli, but went with it. Really glad we did as it really does work. Good value, tasty food.

Walked up from Church Stretton (about 30 minutes). Had a very well kept pint of Wye Valley Butter Bach. The Yew Tree is in the current CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2023, a very nice oldy worldy British pub. Plenty of outdoor space. Visited on a very quiet Tuesday afternoon. Food available but not sampled.

Visited on Sunday 30th July 2023 with family and friends, one of us being elderly/disabled. Staff looked after us brilliantly. Fantastic food. Reasonable prices. The chef man on the carvery counter was 10 out of 10, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining and enthusiastic. I think we now have a new favourite pub.

Great find! Proper decent pub grub at a reasonable price. I can personally recommend the beef brisket with mustard mash and bacon and cabbage. It was superb.

Top pint(s) of Butty Bach and a fabulous salmon and cream cheese sandwich. Hit the spot after a run over the Mynd. Thank you Team Yew Tree. Just had the fish finger sandwich, no photo but it was fabulous as are the staff.

Overnight stay here whilst walking the beautiful Shropshire Hills. Lovely place and perfect location. Our room was good. Comfy bed and decent shower. We are in the restaurant that evening. Both dinner and breakfast were very good indeed. Staff really friendly and helpful. Could have stayed longer. I forgot something and contacted the hotel who let me know it was found and would be posted out to me. Exceptional! We will stay again on our next visit to Shropshire.

Lovely Sunday roast. We went for a walk up to the top of valley then back down. All the while looking forward to a lovely meal. We were not disappointed. Helpful staff and lovely atmosphere. Only reason it's not a 5 star is the salmon description didn't match the plate that came out. But was rectified and we all left totally satisfied and happy. Certainly at the top of the list for Sunday lunches. Thank you.
