Lovely friendly staff, gorgeous cakes and wonderful crockery & cutlery- Sunday best! My only negative is the cost of the cakes £3.50 a slice which is a bit steep although probably the going rate in Alfriston!
Lovely fresh sandwiches on gorgeous bread. Light & fluffy sponge cake & good sized scones with plenty of ham & cream. Good selection of teas. Wasps kept at bay by little pots of smoking fresh coffee beans! Great service by friendly staff. Highly recommended
Absolutely perfect afternoon tea and so lovely not to have to wait until 3pm like most establishments!
Samdwiches were fresh and soft.
Elderflower and gooseberry victoria sponge was so light and tasted so good.
Scones were delicious had an aroma of shortbread and perfect consistency.
All the staff were so friendly and welcoming and we were able to have our dog in the garden.

Great place! Fantastic cakes and scones...without any noisy kids around :-). What do you want more! And the staff, especially the friendly owner, deserves five stars for sure as well. Definitely go here when you pass by Alfriston, best in the village.
A must on your journey to the UK!!

Food, service, and atmosphere are always wonderful!
We enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by cake and a scone. It was all beautifully presented and tasted amazing. My boyfriend said that his creamy mushrooms on toast was one of the best meals he’d eaten out.
Service is always friendly and you can tell that there’s a lot of care taken for the customers. There also seems to be a good atmosphere amongst the team, which is lovely to see.
We were politely informed about a small delay due to a large order inside, which I appreciated, and we got our drinks promptly.
Our favourite place to eat out when we’re down this direction!
A little peace of heaven in East Sussex. Family owned and run. A sanctuary for mind, body and soul. Heart warming service, excellent coffee, tea, food, scones and the best cakes. A place to visit with friends and is equally enjoyable with a book as company. A must visit.
Cute setting with delicious homemade cakes and good coffee. Lovely sun trap seating area outside at the back. Staff all very friendly.
Maple pancetta with chili jam sandwich
Elderflower and gooseberry cake
Really lovely Tea House. Beautifully decorated, with a really nice garden out the back.
The hot food is really tasty - simple fresh ingredients really well cooked. The cakes and scones are the best around, and there's a great tea selection.
Definitely pop in if you are in the area - it's the best place in town.
Amazing afternoon tea and scones! The tea came in a real silver tea pot and we drank from beautiful china tea cups, and the scones came tucked in a tiny garden trug. Really enjoyed sitting in the little garden at the back amongst the rose bushes, watching the birds. Lovely team working there. A proper English tearoom - highly recommend!
Really lovely tea house in amazing 500 year old building. The food and the cakes we're delicious and the tea and coffee was great too! We didn't have afternoon tea, but saw others that ordered and it looked really lovely. The staff was really friendly and attentive, family run. The interiors and the decorations are really nice and there is a lovely garden at the back. Would recommend anyone who's in the area to visit this place!
If you’re visiting alfriston, Badgers is a must see! A really lovely atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and really good hot chocolate. I also love that there’s options for vegans - I recommend the vegan scones and croissants - so yummy!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Badgers Tea House in Alfriston, and I must say, it was a delightful experience that exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that instantly made me feel at ease.
The interior of the tea house was beautifully decorated. The cozy seating both indoor and outdoor and soft lighting created a serene atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a peaceful cup of tea. The attention to detail in the decor truly added to the overall charm of the place.
The service at Badgers Tea House was exceptional. The staff members were friendly and attentive.
Speaking of tea, the quality and variety at Badgers Tea House were outstanding. They offered an extensive selection of loose-leaf teas, ranging from classic black teas to herbal infusions and everything in between. Each cup was expertly brewed, resulting in a rich and flavorful experience. The teas were served in beautiful teapots and accompanied by delicate tea cups, adding to the overall elegance of the presentation.
The food offerings at Badgers Tea House were equally impressive. The menu featured a delightful array of sandwiches, scones, and cakes, all made with fresh and high-quality ingredients. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portions were generous. The attention to detail in the presentation of the food was evident, making each bite a true pleasure.
In terms of pricing, Badgers Tea House offered good value for the quality of the experience. While it may be slightly higher than your average tea house, the exceptional service, ambiance, and tea selection made it well worth the price.
Overall, my visit to Badgers Tea House in Alfriston was a truly enjoyable experience. The charming ambiance, exceptional service, high-quality teas, and delicious food made it a memorable outing. I highly recommend this tea house to anyone looking for a delightful and relaxing tea experience.
Couldn't recommend this place more highly. The afternoon tea was by far the best I've ever had and great value for money. Everything is so beautifully home made and the staff were so friendly and attentive, I even got a candle in my scone for my birthday!
Ended up coming here based on a recommendation and did not regret it one bit. Unfortunately they didn't have the cream tea that I ventured there for, but their Victoria sponge and flapjack were very worthy replacements.
The five stars isn't just for the great tea or the cake, but more for the warm welcome and feeling during the visit, the lovely garden area and the friendly conversation from the recent owners.
