Popped in on the middle of a Boxing Day walk around the fields of Shirland. Only to find we had no cash. They couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Made our day. Lovely place. Proper friendly pub.

Just had a wedding reception here and I can't praise owner Shaun and the staff enough. Fantastic day with amazing food and equally good beer at a very good price in a beautiful location. How pubs should be run.

We always get a friendly welcome from Sean and his Team. A good selection of real ales and an excellent Italian red wine are available, plus plenty of other options. And if you want to chat to a great eclectic group of people then pop in on a Sunday afternoon. We might even see you there!

When we went they were not serving food, which was a shame. They had a good selection of well kept beer, the service was very efficient also all the regulars were very friendly and helpful.

The meeting place of Alfreton Diving Club for over 20 years. Eileen and her staff give a warm and friendly atmosphere welcoming both locals and visitors. Come and sample the real ales and roaring fire.
