The Horse & Jockey - Alfreton - Photo album

Rooms clean with nice size bed and quiet fora good night's sleep. Probably the best cooked breakfasts (to order) we've had - really good taste and size and within the booking charge. Only disappointment was the staff mostly wandering aimlessly in the bar on a night and next morning. No interaction
We had a very pleasant 2 day stay here the first evening we had a 3 course meal plus a cocktail which was included in our package. This was very good value and the food was excellent, the service was great our waitress was very helpful. The breakfast on a morning was plenty of choice and cooked fres
I'm not sure where to go with this but here we go anyway. Lovely building, interior really nice, nice tables and chairs, staff were efficient, well trained and friendly. We ate in the cellar which was great. Now for the less good bit - Sunday lunch, roast beef, ordered, everything was hot and tasty
I recently stayed at The Horse & Jockey as part of my best friends wedding. Myself, the groom and 2 other friends were staying the night before the wedding and had booked a table for food along with the grooms family. I ordered the Jockey Burger and it was amazing. Cooked to perfection and the chips
I stayed at the horse and jockey for 2 weeks whilst completing a training course, the room was very clean and cleaned to a high standard every day. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast every morning was lovely and cooked perfectly. The evening meals were delicious.
A really nice local pub with a decent selection of fresh food and local beers including some of their own. The chunky chips can sometimes be a bit too dry but the food is generally really good. Suggestion to the management that they sometimes have more guest ales from Derbyshire breweries.
Called in for a bit of food and a drink unplanned. Staff were great and found us a table even though they were very booked up. Had a selection of their starters, tapas style. All the food was fantastic!! We'll definitely be going back another time.
Just returned from a lovely stay at the Horse and Jockey. We had a delicious evening meal and breakfast. The room was clean and has everything you need. The staff were also very good and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely brilliant, not more to say. Didn’t stay over but went for Sunday dinner, service exemplary, food beautiful & beer tasty. What more could one ask for? The gammon was beautiful. Vegetables done to perfection. Starters were fresh and tasty (no bidvest stuff here!) Was a first time visit bu
Stayed for a week relating to work. Food was lovely, with a great variety on the menu. Staff were always helpful and friendly. The rooms were amazing, very comfortable and quiet, just what was needed after a long day travelling. Will be staying here again and would recommend
Popped in for lunch on the way towards Matlock for a week of relaxation. Got to admit, this is a lovely looking English country pub on 15 minute drive out of busy Matlock. Very clean, lots of outside space, staff very nice and polite. Only a small lunch menu on offer but the food was exceptional. Ve
Venue is clean and tidy, nice atmosphere and a good selection of drinks. Food is pretty good, there's a decent selection and variety. Good parking, haven't stayed over so can't comment on rooms etc. Overall not a bad place to visit.
We are here for the first time recently despite being very local. We all had an absolutely fantastic meal and were very happy. Will definitely be coming here again. The food was great, it arrived very quickly, and the staff were very attentive and helpful. We ended up staying at our table for over 2
Called in for Sunday dinner after a day in Matlock with family. We hadn't booked but they fit us in straight away, service was fantastic and the food was even better. Highly recommend, we will be going again and bringing more with us.
Only called in because we couldn't get in pesto at the peacock. So glad we did, good food and beer, but the service was exceptional.
Went there for dinner on Thursday evening, I had a pizza and my partner had the pie if the day. Delicious meal, reasonably priced and excellent service, thank you
On arrival we were dubious about what we were going to get but this pub was on our way home from walking in the Peak District so stuck with it. The staff are all relatively young and inexperienced so we were not instilled with lots of confidence and waited a while at the bar to find out if we coul
Amazing and fantastic dinner at the horse and jockey 🏇! The food was delicious and to 5 star quality! The service was top notch and definitely customer focused !
