Dropped in for a coffee/cake after hospital appointment. Welcomed and asked if we had any allergies before being shown to our seats. Ordering and paying was very straightforward. Excellent coffee, decaf tea and a good size portion of carrot cake. Will be back for sure.
Nice setting within the garden centre and larger and more up market than your normal cafe specially in a garden centre. Plenty of parking and reasonably priced and good selection serving hot food, hot and cold drinks and a small selection of alcohol. Sunday morning was very busy with breakfasts taking over an hour. The full breakfast look great any low cost but unfortunately my breakfast roll was very poor quality with one dried skinny piece of bacon, egg and low quality sausage. Maybe the breakfast next time. Easy access for wheel chairs/buggies with clean nice toilets. Would recommend.
Lovely big garden centre, lots of country living goods for ladies and gents, pretty gifts, both beautiful and functional accessories and furniture. Some good deals on for (free) members. Cafe is alright and not too badly priced; the afternoon tea looks gorgeous. Food is a little expensive but then the quality is very good; 99p for fresh baked scones and £4 for big tasty pasties or pies. Really nice for somewhere local.
Rosebourne Garden Centre in Aldermaston is located about 8 miles South of M4 Junction 12. Going in the main entrance you find yourself in the food market which is spacious and has lots of good produce. Moving through into the homeware and craft section you will find a varied selection of products with some quirky items to be found. Through to the right you are in the furniture and BBQ section where there is some really nice garden furniture to browse along with a substantial range of BBQs and fire pits. Back in homeware you have the doors through into the garden centre nursery. There is a wide range of quality plants and shrubs set out over an open space giving plenty of options to navigate around and explore what is on offer. Outside and over the back there are the garden statues and pots. In the nursery you will find some interesting sculptures and some really nice water features. The sound of the water features trickling away in the background is always a relaxing piece of zen when exploring nurseries. On the day I bought a nice healthy scented Jasmine for my balcony. There was also a plant sale on with reductions of up to 90% so some great bargains to be had. Back inside the main building there is also a very nice cafe, I didn’t eat there but it did look really good, I will give it a go next time as I will definitely be going back. The staff were very friendly and also a bit cheeky in a good fun way with some shared laughs. Toilets are well presented and located inside accessible via the homeware section. There is ample parking. Note that the main road entrance is the first one on the right if approaching from the M4, it caught me out as it looks like the exit but it is entry and exit. Personally I like garden centres and this is a really good one. It could be my new favourite. If you like garden centres then I recommend you give Rosebourne a try and I hope you enjoy it.
A good garden centre that has good quality plants and not only the standard stuff. It gets better with every visit. Interesting range of foods in the food hall including bread, scones and cakes as well as wines.
We enjoyed a light lunch of chicken caesar salad and a ploughman's. Both were very tasty and well presented, the only thing that would have improved the ploughmans was some butter. Delicious bread but no butter was supplied, although the onion marmalade was superb.
We went there after doing a 2 hour walk. Our friends had a special deal on two cream teas so we took the opportunity to have one that was sweet and the other was savoury. Lovely.
One of the best places for Christmas decoration shopping. Large size restaurants, food and drinks are nice.Nothing to complain about. We love this place.
Restaurant staff were very kind and attentive, beans on toast was very filling. Garden centre was lovely, many small gifty bits to buy. Outdoors was full of winter flowers and potato buy. A bit on the pricey side but a nice place to visit for a mooch.
Since stumbling upon this place a few weeks ago, this is now one of my favourite places to come.
They offer more "home grown" vegetables, and lots from lesser known manufacturers.
There is a meat and cheese counter, and a good frozen food aisle with ready meals along with pastries and fruit and veg.
There is a restaurant on site which does some lovely food, alongside that is a small garden centre which does some lovely ornaments and plants.
I can't wait to go again!
Lovely garden centre & farm shop. Shame they don't sell Gluten free cake by the slice but restaurant does cater well for dietary requirements. Lovely afternoon tea which can be provided for vegans, vegetarian, gluten free. Could use a bit more selection instead of doubling up on brownies. Still very nice though
Lovely garden centre for shopping and eating food. It’s a great place for buying flowers and groceries and have a rest at beautiful restaurant after shopping. We ordered toast and drinks,Food was fresh and coffee was good as well. They had a different kind of cake and sale delicious chocolate. I
Visited Hilliers restaurant at Aldermaston on Tuesday lunch time and it was excellent. The staff were welcoming, friendly and polite whilst the food was excellent in both quality and quantity but above all it was hot. We will certainly be returning.
Fantastic place. Food was great. Staff very friendly and loved the garden centre. Was down from Motherwell, Scotland visiting family in the area.
Today was a bit of an experience. I have to admit, I have seen much bigger places, but Rosebourne definitely looks more decked out as a farm shop over a garden center, but does do absolutely everything.
The range of fresh produce and having a butcher on site makes this place stand out above the others.
For me, the highlight has to be the range of foods (I ended up coming home with a few giant meringues! Yum!) And some other fancy things. I'll be visiting again once the range of plants starts getting better, knowing we are actually pretty early in the season.
