What a wonderful country pub! Jay and Grant have done an absolutely amazing job at the refurbishment and bringing life and soul into the Wheatacre White Lion. Really stunning and totally appropriate decor and really comfortable ambiance. Brilliant and friendly staff and... oh my goodness, what unbelievable food! Very reasonable priced, decent sized portions and great choice. Chef has put together a great menu.
Had a three course meal at the weekend, such good food and so full. It was a pleasure to meet Jay and Grant (and Ruby the dog of Course!) Popped back on Sunday for the Waveney Valley Brass Band and a bowl of very hot chips!
Really pleased we have a delightful country pub to go to locally now and I whole heartedly recommend the Wheatacre White Lion.
We had the burger with handmade chips and a delicious roast beef - both meals were excellent as was the wonderful choc pud!
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, cleanliness, decor and service great. Can’t fault it, would totally recommend a visit.
Everything about our first visit to this pub for a meal was perfect. The surroundings ,the choice on the menu , the staff especially the 2 waitresses who were attentive and efficient, and the food was delicious.

Loved this place, dfinately will return! The food was amazing, we certainly did NOT go home hungry! The quality of the food was 10* highly recommended...good variety on the menu leaving sumthing for anyone to choose, espically LOVED the creme brûlée! The staff were very effecient and polite with a great atmosphere and LOVE the decore... not forgetting the price...we were very pleased, exellent value!
Excellent. We had the pleasure of staying in one of the very comfortable rooms on New Years Eve. Beautifully furnished great quality bed linen towels and mattress. Experienced a fantastic New Years party with around 200 people. The ambiance is wonderful. Great food great company. Could write pages on why I loved this place. Grant Jay and Fran great hosts and the staff were so friendly. Oh must forget Ruby the big doggy too. Travelled over an hour to get here and will do it again and again. Thankyou one and all. ���
Just had a fabulous meal at the White Lion. Very good menu with lots to choose from. So was a hard choice , decided on fish with a prawn starter and sea bass main , absolutely delicious. The bar and restaurant is delightful. Friendly helpful staff ,was the icing on the cake. Thoroughly recommend a visit we will be back. Thankyou

What an amazing country pub. The food is amazing. I’ve been here twice since Jay has taken it over. The presentation of the food is first class and it tastes amazing. Lovely log fire too , friendly staff and very welcoming.

What a lovely meal the 4 of us had today. The food was excellent and so nicely presented. Even though short staffed they were very attentive. Lovely drinks also. Will certainly return.
Lovely dog friendly pub, menu not too extensive, but OMG, the portions were huge and amazing value for money.
Service was also great , the staff being very attentive and happy to be there.

Came for a meal on Christmas Eve with my partner and puppy (there’s a dedicated seating area that’s dog friendly). Every member of staff we spoke to were so lovely and welcoming. Our food was absolutely delicious some of the best food I’ve ever had out. The pub is cosy and inviting, a lovely atmosphere and booked to go back for another special occasion.
I visited for a baby shower last weekend and we all had such a lovely time. The place itself was decorated beautifully for Christmas and they were really accommodating of our baby shower rubbish (thank you staff for dealing with it all). The roast dinner was great as were the deserts. The staff were really friendly and spirited.
Visited at lunchtime today whilst in the area for my partners birthday. Amazing, friendly service (I'd mentioned that it was my fiancé's birthday and arrived to a balloon and happy birthday sign, and we were given a taster dessert with Happy Birthday piped on it FOC). Food was fantastic, so tasty. This is my second visit and I'd go again.
Had a fantastic meal at the White lion. Great setting and a nice feel inside the pub and restaurant. Had a superb 3 course meal which was the best I had enjoyed for some time. Fine selection of real ales too. Will certainly be returning.
Very busy Sunday and fully booked but they found us a table. Good service and great food at a very reasonable price

Our second visit to the Wheatacre White Lion for food while staying near Beccles and just like our first experience, the food was brilliant and the service was friendly! The staff are really inviting and the atmosphere is lovely. Will definitely be visiting again in the future!
We enjoyed our overnight stay.
Service was friendly but unfortunately 2 large unbooked walk in parties arrived and we had a very long wait in restuarant ..but food was excellent and staff apologetic so still enjoyed it. It was a very hot night and a fan in room would have helped. But would stay there again .. lively, friendly and great food.
