Golden Galleon - Aldeburgh - Photo album

Visited on 24th March literally 10 minutes before closure, what impressed me was they fulfilled every order cooking to the last customer. Rachel and the team worked like a well oiled machine, professional, polite and efficient. The portion size was more than generous and the prices were very good
Lovely family orientated fish and chippy - we have been 7-8 times now and the staff are always friendly, for quality of food is great and good value for money. A positive is also that the restaurant upstairs is air conditioned so a great escape on a hot day!
³Had a trip to Aldeburgh today, lovely bracing walk along the shoreline as far as the shell monument, then headed back to find some fish and chips. Came to the Golden Galleon, and although a queue outside, full covid precautions in place, but very quick service ,in and out in under 5 minutes. Thoroughl
Aldeburgh is famed for its fish n chips and after visiting the Golden Galleon I concur. Lovely cod and chips which I ate on a bench on the seafront intimidated by seagulls! Not really aggressive but persistent. the only thing more intimidating is the huge fine for feeding the gulls. So don't be temp
Called in whilst staying locally in Aldeburgh recently. Had two large portions of fish & chips and was not disappointed. Crispy batter on a huge piece of fish, and lovely well cooked chips. As others have noted the fish had some bones in, but fish do have bones and so you should always expect them
Simple service on wooden tables with great fish and chips. If you need to sit down then head up stairs and grab a table for a swift and friendly service.
Thought I'd give this place a go today, and I'm so glad I did! It was by far the best fish and chips I've had in a looong time, and I will be looking forwards to going back again!
Nice upstairs restaurant with very good fish and chips. Low alcohol beer sold. Good clean loos.
When we saw the exterior of the building we thought we were going to be paying premium prices for a thimble full of food. We were wrong! It was early evening and there was a small queue outside but we were served very quickly and efficiently. We ordered 1 large haddock (and it was) and chips and 1 c
Fish excellent, chips could have been better, got a lot of bits.
Curiousity got the better of me. Why on earth is there a queue outside the fish and chip shop at 430pm in the afternoon? And the queue did not end. So I asked those eating on the beach wall whether it was all that it is hyped up to be. I kept getting broad smiles and thumbs up. So I started queuing
10/10 Haddock and Chips, so good, was so impressed
