In the heart of the village, the pub is great and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. The beer and food are great, especially the breakfast if you're staying over. An all-around nice stay - essential for Doctor Who fans with the Daemons locations just round the corner - or anyone interested in Ba
Just had a cup of tea but the customer service was fabulous. Offered to serve us something from the dessert menu, very friendly bar staff, food and cocktail menus looked good and a great range of beers. I will definitely go back for a meal next time.
Had a fab meal here last night. Lovely pub, waitress very helpful and the food was amazing. They have a wide variety of good old pub food. I had the house burger which was huge and so delicious I ate every bit of it along with the perfect chips. Others in our party had the sausage and mash and the
I loved the quiet village life. Very tranquil, I could have stayed another day and night. Alan and staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended
Great food and beer, the food portions are large and I struggled to finish my chicken curry but managed in the end. This is a proper village pub and there is always an excellent choice of quality beers on draft. Staff are all efficient friendly and helpful.
Wonderful, proper quintessential English pub. Set in a lovely village with an amazing history, and overlooking the village pond. Restaurant quality food with a mix of the traditional and the modern You wont be disappointed.
A truly lovely place. Great atmosphere, really nice service and lovely food. A traditional inn - go there if you are in the area, you won’t regret it!
Just went in for a beer as went to pay respect to the 101st American parachute regiment..the Landlord full of excellent information an very welcoming brilliant lovely village will definitely go back soo..
Popped in for a quick drink after visiting Avebury. Nice little pub, parking not great, but it is in a small village. Friend is a Doctor Who fan and the area was used in an episode, so that was the main reason for visiting.
Historic pub frequented by the world famous easy company from Band of Brothers who were based here in the build up to Dday. Small room with photos and memorabilia.
