Went following a recommendation as we have recently moved to Bishops Stortford. Will definitely be making regular return visits -service was friendly and the food was excellent.
Beautiful countryside fun to drive to get there. Food is great. Summer time do give a try.

We came here with our two children for a spot of Sunday lunch. The hardest part of the visit was to try and decide what we would like to eat, as the menu has great choices with all locally sourced ingredients š. Luckily I made the right choice and took the last Suet pudding of the day off the menu, as it was absolutely delicious. A particular highlight was the gravy, which was to die for. My wife selected the gluten free chicken roast which looked absolutely fabulous too. Both kids sat in silence eating every mouthful of their Sunday roast, which was generous in size. Then on to the puddings, again all great with great selection of gluten free options. All the staff where so friendly and answered all our questions with a smile. The climbing frame and sandpit outside was a great hit with the kids too. So great to have a local country pub with locally sourced food and drinks available, with an amazing outside space for the kids to let off some steam. We will definitely be coming again!!!

A very welcoming pub/restaurant serving great food in comfortable surroundings.They have a lovely beer garden. Dogs welcomed which is great as we had ours with us. Service was very friendly, had to ask a few times for childs cutlery. Food very good, great vegan options.

I recently ate here with my husband and two young children and were blown away by how lovely the meal, staff and pub was. Thereās a huge outdoor space with a great play area for kids to entertain themselves in and a really nice patio area to sit and watch from.
We had Sunday lunch and the roast beef was delicious. A really generous portion and everything seasoned perfectly. Iām so pleased we live local so we can easily visit again. The staff were really friendly.
Absolutely fabulous gastropub, somewhat in the middle of nowhere but with the nicest pub garden I've been to in a very long time. Lovely lovely.

We had a private function at the Catherine wheel. It was a wake and the staff were friendly and sensitive to the occasion. The food was great and the service was excellent. Will come back for a family meal sometime.

We recently visited The Catherine Wheel with a group of friends and so enjoyed our evening.
The food is excellent, prepared to a high standard and using locally sourced produce too. The portions are generous so unfortunately I couldn't manage a dessert!!
The staff are pleasant and attentive making us feel very welcome.
The outside area of the pub/restaurant has lots of seating and a wonderful play area for children so this is somewhere we will be able to bring our grandchildren in the warmer weather.
I can highly recommended The Catherine Wheel and look forward to coming back soon.
