We love this place. The welcome is warm and the pub itself is very historic and interesting. Service at the bar and at the table is excellent. The menu is very appealing and the food is cooked and presented to perfection. If you take advantage of the 2 for 1 or the early evening eating then the savings are good. We have never been disappointed with a meal and I recommend the Horns without hesitation.
I can’t rate the food and service here enough. Much more than 5* !! I have never been disappointed, staff are always so warm and friendly and the food is just to die for. If I want exceptional home cooked food I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Looking forward to returning very soon.
What a lovely place to eat and drink (Peroni on tap) had the trio of pork amazing food - i would give this place 6 stars if they had stuck toffee pudding or apple crumble on the desert menu only thing that let this place down.
Visited here on Saturday 4th March early evening 6pm. We had a table near to a crackling open fire which was lovely and added to the ambience. We didnt order starters although they sounded fab. I ordered Pork tenderloin with crispy belly pork, black pudding bon bons and a fabulous madeira sauce. My husband had a mixed grill which he said was the best he'd had. He couldnt manage a dessert but i had chocolate brownie and icecream which was delicious. The staff all seemed quite young but were very experienced, friendly and attentive. We absolutely loved our first visit, we will definately return and also recommend to others. Well done all at The Horns.
Never been to this pub before, but will be back! Beautiful food in a cosy pub, only one complaint- couldn't finish it all and no room for dessert
Just to thank Natalie, Matt and all the staff for a wonderful evening at the Horns on Monday 13th February, I had 57 guests who all commented on the wonderful food and service provided.Everybody enjoyed themselves leaving me to pass on many many plaudits to the Horns. It is a wonderful venue for parties, the main restaurant created a fantastic atmosphere for the evening. Nothing was too much trouble for Natalie and her staff, there was no stress which left us to really enjoy a special night. The 4 course meal which offered many choices was plentiful, well cooked and tasty, service for so many people at the same time was spot on. overall a 10 out of 10 for everything, a perfect venue for a private function, Once again many many thanks to all
Had family Sunday lunch yesterday 12 adults and 5 little ones. We live near the Horns so do us it on a regular basis but the meal yesterday really was exceptional. The menu is exciting so lots of conversation on what we were going to try and we were able to try different things especially the starters which were wonderful I had the Halloumi fritter, vegetable ratatouille and rocket mayonaise. As well as the traditional roasts which again were well received the specials including the chef's homemade pie, lasagne, belly pork and lamb shank were all ordered and I had the Goat's cheese, spinach and carrot tart, glazed cherry tomatoes, chef's salad and home made hand cut chips - enough said. Pudding was profiteroles with Baileys sauce and chocolate something which kept me very quiet. Staff lovely, location great, love the place
It was my 60th birthday and the meal was excellent. The staff were very efficient and friendly. I highly recommend The Horns to anyone.
Natalie and the team were absolutely excellent during our private function on 14 May. We had a celebratory lunch following our wedding the day before, hoping to offer our guests a good meal and a chance to chat before everyone headed home. What we received hugely exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely beautiful and a large number of our guests have since contacted us to reiterate just how nice the lunch was. We booked with The Horns at short notice after being let down by another venue, but they were brilliant at accommodating all our needs, including guests with serious food allergies. We can't thank the staff enough; their hard work really continued our wedding celebrations in the best way possible.
Seriously wonderful food, cannot fault and amazing attentive service that meant a lot to my dad who is in a wheelchair. Thankyou! Highly recommend
My partner and I on 1st visit to the Cowshed( formerly Horns of Boningale building) had a wonderful lunch and dessert today. We were made very welcome by all staff and received excellent food both in presentation and taste. We will be return visitors and will recommend to our friends and family.
This is now The Cowshed and has been for ages. It was the busiest I've seen it but this did make table conversation difficult at times as the room is quite echoey. As always, food was brilliant and the service too, though our initial waitress didn't seem to know the menu and had no idea of the wines on offer. She was helpful though and found out what we needed to know.
Amazing. Awesome experience. Remote location (bit of traffic along the A464 but nothing substantial). Great dining. Food was outstanding. Generous quantities, generous flavours, great service. Just look at the photos. The King prawns and scallops were delicious. The pork belly and pancetta wrapped tenderloin were proper classy local food from the Black Country. And the cheeseboard was a work of art. If I were pushed to find fault, the only thing I could say is the only craft beer they have is low alcohol but that is about it to be fair. If you only get four stars from me it's not that there is anything wrong with what you do but it allows me to single out exceptional dining experiences like this and give the fifth star where the fifth star is really due.
Lovely views of countryside. They had a good selection of beer and larger as well intresting gins, a nice range if wines and all the other stuff you get in a standard bar. The halloumi starter was lovely and super tasty. The lamb was great I especially enjoyed the lamb ball and chops. Would definitely go again.
A regular favourite of my boyfriend and I. Always has a diverse menu with a gastro pub feel. The pork tenderloin dish is amazing and they somehow make black pudding palatable with their fritters! Such friendly staff and always a good atmosphere. It's good enough for our Xmas eve dinner this year so if you are ever in the area I highly recommend you give it a look.
My wife and I were taken here by our family for our ruby wedding anniversary . The food was fantastic and the staff were very attentive especially as we had one vegan one lactose intolerance and another msg intolerance. All catered for faultlessly.
Well done will be going again
