The Moat house is lovely and is set in a nice part of Staffordshire. It's a great place to bring colleagues, friends or family.
It's great for a drink in the bar or outside by the pond. The ducks are so tame that they will walk right up to you. The bar meals are very nice and suit a more laid back dining experience.
The Orangery restaurant feels a little bit more formal and is ideal for celebrations or romantic meals. They also do a fantastic breakfast.
Had afternoon tea in the Orangery for my Birthday recently.

Fabulous afternoon tea/baby shower in lovely setting. Would definitely go again.
Very enjoyable evening. Dog friendly, in fact when we arrived our pre-booked table had a dog bowl next to it. Dropped one star as wine glass had lipstick around edge, although the staff quickly changed it. All staff that served us were friendly and efficient. Food was very good.
Food is very nice happy to come again
We had a lovely three course meal here, food was really good and tasty, the surroundings were very relaxing. And the service was quick and efficient. Highly recommended.
Very nice indeed, been a few times before all for afternoon tea, they offer a choice of traditional or a gentleman's which is more to my savoury tastes
Absolutely brilliant, well renovated yet very old site turned into a gastropub. Excellent menu, phenomenal outdoor area, seating and surroundings, brilliant staff, very very cosy old world charm. Excellent car park... Nit-picking -> car park was full, had to park off site, too damn busy, they had run out of ham, and the steak sandwich was very full of gristle... Not enough to ruin it, highly recommend going.
Such a beautiful venue for that special occasion. The staff are very attentive, and nothing is too much trouble for them. Food is of great quality and flavour
Would highly recommend this venue.
Food tasted amazing.
Staff were very friendly.
Atmosphere was calm and welcoming.
Just had afternoon tea bought for us as a gift. 4 different sandwiches, scones & clotted cream and 4 different cakes with lots of tea. Yummy 😋
Pit stop on our way down south. Unfortunately the risotto had a strong taste of stock (cube?). But the cocktails were good and it’s a pretty space.
My wife and I have eaten here many times and have never felt let down. The Hotel itself is excellent in a beautiful setting. We had our wedding reception there and cannot praise them enough.
Lovely place to visit , and he scenery is beautiful also.... waterfront, wildlife and various seating areas.
Food was nice also , alittle pricey but meh... you pay for what you get.
Beautiful surroundings, great afternoon tea with ales too and friendly, helpful, generous staff
Food ok but not great for the price. Lovely location and grounds
The best steak I've had an ages
