Called a week back for a Sunday roast, which was excellent, so good in fact that we called again on the Monday for a bite to eat early evening. Good food, plenty of it, and at a reasonable price, same goes for the drinks. The people running this dog friendly place are most hospitable. A well frequented establishment, good outside space and parking.

Wow! A real hidden gem! Lovely vibe and home baked pies and fried chicken a real treat. Call ahead to order pies as they take 40 min. Well worth the wait the crust melts in your mouth and beautiful caramelised onions and moist chicken and mushrooms. Everyone was super kind and the wait staff couldn't have been more considerate and caring. Go go go! We are definitely coming back!

GREAT PORTION SIZE, MENU CHOICE and TASTY CHEESE BOARD platter. lovely authentic local village pub feel as you walk in. Cute tables and plenty of seating inside and out. A reasonable size car park but this local venue can get busy. Ordered Nachos and chilli which was really good with sides of chips and tasty coleslaw. Great choice of puddings and chose chocolate fudge cake and the cheeseboard. The evening was finished off with coffee ☕️ A really lovely night and comes reccomended

Amazing place friendly staff and locals. Had garlic mushrooms to start while the wife had whitebait. For main course we both had there posh KFC homemade chicken and chips. All that we had was homemade Including the chips! The chef here is very good. Nothing was to much trouble service with a smile. Wheelchair friendly and a easily accessible disabled toilet witch was spotlessly clean. On a whole a fantastic experience all round and we will definitely return.

Just popped in for a meal and a drink. We liked everything we ordered. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the prices were reasonable.

Very busy for a Wednesday evening. The food was delicious. There was a little wait (a large sign stated all food cooked to order, so not unexpected). The bar team were very attentive and we had a really good evening. Will definitely be back. I took no photos; too busy devouring the food!

This is my favourite pub to eat in near me as the food is absolutely amazing. It’s all home cooked and it shows, my favourite food is macaroni cheese and usually when you have that out it’s a ready meal. At the hermitage the macaroni cheese was properly homemade and the nicest one I’ve ever had. The puddings are to die for aswell. Staff are welcoming and it is dog friendly. My dogs are chilled out there as it’s a nice calm atmosphere.

Since lock down so many places have lowered their standards and put up their prices. The hermitage is the only place I go now. Great attitude owners and staff and it's genuine, great food and fresh bears and lagers all at a sensible price.
