We are fairly new to this chippy (been about 5 times in the last few months) and it has been consistently very good. The fish is absolutely delicious with the batter light and crispy. Definitely our regular go to chippy from now on.
Absolutely amazing! Can't fault this place. Food is fresh, not greasy, well worth an eat. They have a different menu with salt and pepper favourites. A must try!
Beautiful fish, good selection of other menu items and excellent customer service.
Just a thought... if local delivery (1-2 miles radius) was available for pre-ordered food it would really benefit a lot of vulnerable people in the area, and would undoubtedly increase profits and the frequency of sales to regular and new customers alike.
The best Fish and Chips we have had in years, great service and the premises are spotless. Well worth the visit, and we will be back

Just ordered tea for three of us. It’s our first ever visit. Used the app. Very easy to use. Paid with CC and was given I time slot. I arrived on time and even though the shop was rammed the food was ready in minutes. I jumped the queue by ordering online….. BUT….. ( and this is where eateries let themselves down)…… the order was NOT complete. An item of food was missing!!!! This is sooooooo frustrating because you don’t notice until you’re back home. It was part of my wife’s meal which made it even more disappointing. It’s only a small thing but……. The devil’s in the detail!!!!! Would have been five stars otherwise. 🤦🏼♂️
Was down from Glasgow, believe it or not, to go to Oswaldwistle Mills.
Had lunch here. Can only say it was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty! Succulent large fish, lovely crispy batter, perfect chips. Am drooling again!!

Clean, well run, very friendly and welcoming smiles for the customers, I'm there once a week with a team of workers we enjoy the well cooked items on offer. A nice friendly atmosphere, I'd recommend this shop to others I know.

First time meal from perfect plaice, ordered online, and the fish and chips are fantastic.
Been searching for fish and chips and found perfect plaice and they deliver to Clayton le Moors. Will definitely have more meals.

I've had a couple of meals from here and both have been absolutely gorgeous.
The scampi is decent quality breaded scampi and cooked very well - I was hoping for battered, but that's virtually impossible to find - so I wasn't disappointed at all.
The teacakes are very large, fluffy, well buttered and clearly aren't bought in from a large-scale bakery. A lot of fish and chip shops have small oven bottom muffins, but these are a very good size and have a very good texture.
The chips are some of the best I've had in the UK. They clearly use very high quality potatoes as well as very good quality oil. They are softer than the average chip shop chip, but they aren't overly greasy by any means. I've had a portion from a fresh batch, and a portion from an older batch, and whilst the fresh batch are much better, the older batch didn't taste stale and were still very pleasant.
The prices are a little bit higher than you might expect, but that does reflect in the food. A lot of chip shops I've visited have rock bottom prices but barely edible food. I am perfectly happy paying a wee bit more here knowing that I'm going to have a very nice meal.
My only slight quibble is the portion sizes. They're smaller than average for a chip shop, but it's definitely a case of quality over quantity. I have a very large appetite and found that the large chips was a fraction too small for me. However, I would expect that most people would be perfectly fine with a regular or large chips.
Overall, I would say that Perfect Plaice is the perfect place to visit if you want to indulge yourself. It's perfect for those afternoons or evenings where the thought of turning on the oven and making something just seems like too much hassle, and you just want to give yourself a nice little treat!
