Barley Mow - Abingdon - Photo album

Just visited this restaurant for the first time, and wow, what a pleasant surprise! I've driven past it countless times without giving it a second thought. Today, I finally decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. The dishes I ordered were absolutely fantastic! Finding a free parking spot r
Dropped in without a booking, no trouble in offering us a table. The staff were very pleasant & our orders were taken efficiently. The food was lovely, we decided to have our coffees outside, again there was no issue with this. Outside has a pleasant seating areas with different seat number options
Lovely meal here with the family as a party of 10. Everyone enjoyed their food and we had a wide range between us. The fig and goats cheese tart I had to start was delicious and clearly well thought out. Couldn't improve on it. The ravioli part of my main was very tasty, but the golden beetroot acco
Enjoyed a delicious impromptu meal here for Sunday lunch. High standard of food; accomplished chef obviously behind the menu, pub prices, warm and welcoming ambiance. We are tourists boating on The Thames. SO happy we moored here and discovered this village’s gem. Modern though from 1352! Incredible
We came here for a simple lunch, but ended up having a proper meal. We ordered their shared starter for two, it was lovely. I went on to Seabass and seared scallops on white wine risotto. It was superb! My companion ordered beef pancetta &red wine lasagne, which was richly flavoured. This is a quant
Really excellent service. We came here for Sunday lunch. Just after the food arrived, our small baby got grumpy, and I took him to a sofa to calm him down and feed him, leaving my food untouched. Our waitress noticed this immediately, took my food off to keep warm on a hot plate, and brought it bac
I had two choices...get up some ridiculous time to drive to Oxford or leave London the night before, and stay in the countryside, or visit a a beautiful Thatched Inn selling the most delicious food. I chose to escape early before Friday traffic chaos kicked in. I am staying nearby in a country B&B,
Absolutely loved our dinner at the Barley Mow. Up scale pub food with a great atmosphere. Mushroom and ale pie was tops!
Sunday Roast, Roast Rib of beef. Roast potatoes veg and stuffing. Cooked perfectly, gravy slightly to salty for me personally.
Lovely restaurant out in the countryside. Service was good and so was food, especially being a Greeneking and had a good about of discount off for a family of six. Food cooked to perfection even though they were short staffed in the kitchen. Only downside I found being a disabled person that there w
Lovely pub great atmosphere and impressive food. I had the mix grill which was good but my wife’s pie was really good. Great flavour and defiantly what I’d get myself next time. Lovely homely fire place and beautiful my decorated for Christmas Friendly service and very attentive
Beautiful thatched Pub/restaurant set in the Oxfordshire countryside approximately 8miles from the city centre We sat outside in the garden which could do with a little more comfort and updating of the furniture but the food and service was excellent an absolute treat also dog friendly
Pub is in a lovely country setting by the Thames. Ate in the garden as it was sunny and warm and we had a dog with us. Nice pub garden. Food was great. The steak & ale pie was a proper full cased one - delicious, not a small dish with a bit of pastry set on top.
Lovely pub by the river with nice food, beer and wine. The inside is very nice, but the garden is even better. The thatched building is amazing too. Now this pub should take over the campsite next door. We use to either paddle the Thames and camp there or come in our campervan and stay over. Would
