We were there in July and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was lovely. We stayed Friday, Saturday and Sunday and had food there 3 times so I don't understand the comment about the lack of food. We are going this weekend to meet family for brother in laws birthday.

Attended a funeral Wake at this hostelry. Buffet provided was exceptional. Great pint Convivial and friendly staff. Recommended.

Googled “carvery in Aberystwyth “ and the Black Lion was on the map - phoned and spoke to a helpful chap, booking for 3 made at short notice - we were very pleased and had great food ! Will go again !

Just had a beautiful steak dinner. Prefectly cooked with all the trimmings. The plate was full and I ate every bite. Great value for money. The atmosphere was great, bar staff friendly and that makes the food enjoyment even better. Compliments to the Chef and would 100% recommend.

What a lovely find myself & my friend made tonight. Warm, friendly & welcoming. We ordered then sat and chatted with our drinks. The sound of chat and the general ambience was just wonderful. Nice beer garden, quiet, some areas shaded. Lovely staff. Very covid aware without it impacting negatively on the experience. Will definitely come again!
