This place is in the middle of NOWHERE (thankfully we had a local to guide us) but it's worth seeking out. Thoroughly authentic country pub in every way, and super-friendly staff who couldn't have been nicer to us tourists. Food is classic pub fare and we enjoyed everything put in front of us.
A gorgeous little pub situated in the beautiful welsh hillside with a picturesque view. The owners are such wonderful people, Kyle & Haf. The food is delicious, great value for money and great portion sizes! Lots of great drinks to choose from. Another great perk is the Pub has links to cottages for a cosy stay! A welcoming and cosy atmosphere, with an exciting future ahead of it! I would fully recommend a visit.
A seriously fantastic traditional pub. It is set in beautiful surroundings and the new owners will make you feel so welcome. Always a good selection of ales and pub meals on offer. They put on a great series of events throughout the year.
A traditional Pub in every sense with new, very modern owners! I was US Navy in Scotland in 1981-1985. I had a US Navy reenlistment party at Goose&Cuckoo hosted by good friends and previous owners in 1984. It took me 39 years for my return visit and the welcoming atmosphere, hospitality, openness and good vibes that I remembered are still very much alive and well in 2023! Is the Goose&Cuckoo off the beaten path and a bit difficult to get to - Yes, but I guarantee that you will enjoy every moment of your visit, your hosts and staff will welcome you as long lost family and you will leave with having a really great time and returning home with very fond memories of your visit!

You will find this in the middle of nowhere at the end of a long dead end road.
We found a seat by a little window. Above the geese, an unusual black goat. Below is in the room on the floor a trapdoor to the cellar. Around us a crowd of Welsh rugby locals anticipating a Welsh Rugby turnaround against Scotland.

Beautiful setting for a lovely pub.
Halfway point on a long hike today. Great beer and food with vegetarian option. The bar staff were so friendly and welcoming even running after us with a mobile phone that we'd dropped. Highly recommended. 😊👍
Stumbled upon this gorgeous pub a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful time - great lunch with beautiful views and incredibly friendly staff (who we later found out were the Landlord and Landlady). We had a great chat with them and discovered they’d only taken the pub on 5 weeks previous and had fabulous plans and ventures in the pipeline. Absolutely loved it and will be returning this weekend for one of their music events…can’t wait!
Lovely pub with a great local atmosphere, I stumbled upon this treasure whilst scouting for a filming location, Kyle the owner was really helpful and went out of his way to show me around the area, even though he was in the middle of doing the place up having recently taken ownership of the place, I’ve subsequently been in since the reopening and the pub and atmosphere within took me back to when pubs were proper places you could go to relax and unwind, staff are amazingly friendly and welcoming they serve food and snacks, without the muddying of a gastropub.
It’s what I’d call a proper boozer.
The views are to die for. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place.
